IT have a few beers on at LA Biergarten so there is that. LA Biergarten is the phoenix that rose from the ashes of the Bar Rescue bar that closed. I checked the place out but didn't drink anything so can't make a comment about the condition of the beer, but I'm a little dubious about a place that has Samiclaus and Narwahl but also Heineken and Shock Top.

    And IT are distributing--

Interestingly, they include One Eyed Gypsy which is no longer with us, so I'm not vouching for accuracy.

While blondes, ambers, pale ales, etc aren't the sexy and popular beers amongst this crowd. They do sell more of those amongst the general public. 75% of my friends don't know what parabola is but do know 805. I don't have an issue with them starting with the beers they have as long as they are good.

I could have sworn LA Biergarten was on the verge of closing down. Was that when the beer rescue thing happened and new owners took over?

That was LA Brewing. Same place, same vibe but, presumably different owners/management. Fake brewing equipment is gone.

I should probably get to adding my reviews of the beers. Get the ratings a little more accurate at least.

I ran into IT Dark Ale at good Microbrew on Sunset a few weeks ago. But their selection has been crap forever no, ever since they got rid of most of their bottle selection.

I don't think they are actually at any bar that knows what they are doing though. More like "Hey it is brewed in LA, we should put it up" types of bars.

I had the Iron Triangle IPA on tap at an event downtown this weekend. It had no aroma and tasted very metallic with a sharp bitter bite to it. That was rough to get through, but it was free. I doubt I'll make it over to the brewery to support them after this, hopefully they get some better hops.

Forreal doh. Mountains of mosaic, citra, and nelson won't be of much help if the recipes and technique aren't there.

Over. Two years since they'll likely throw good money after bad.

Over, The founder established this place in 2012. It's essentially their fourth anniversary soon.

They're going to hold on like a death grip as long as they can, but I foresee that they'll go under right as the redevelopment of those industrial buildings across the street starts happening.

They have shitty luck in location and timing. Cause their location may be ripe for gentrification in another 4-5 years, but they sure as shit aren't surviving to see it.

Which would be the perfect time for a legit brewery to buy up the location and all the equipment and prosper. Maybe that's IT's ultimate purpose in all this.

Except that still would lead to huge losses for all of the investors involved. A brewery with no success/income isn't going to make money in selling its location and assets. It's basically a liquidation sale to recoup what you can.

I wasn't implying that to be a good thing for IT. I figured it could be a good thing for the LA craft beer scene. Subtract the scumbag profiteer and add someone with an actual passion for beer. From what I've heard is that the only positives from IT are the actual space and the shiny new equipment. Hoping his legwork in procuring that can benefit someone more in tune with what the community wants.
