No one talking about this? Just picked up 4 bottles and from what I've heard the recipe is based more on the Pillow Mint than what Stone ended up doing.

Seems odd to do a similar beer with another brewery.

The original collab was with Ironfist, and Ken has always had a close relationship with them.

"cali distro"? Is "Northern" missing here or something? I picked mine up in OC.

So is this supposed to be the Iron Fist version of the Stone beer? Kind of like all 3 of the Saison Du Buff brewers did their own take on the same beer.

No. Ken and Iron Fist have always been very close, and that's why the Stone collab was done with Iron Fist as the third party. This is more so Ken working with Iron Fist to brew his exact homebrew on a larger scale, which was the inspiration for the Stone collab, but had adjustments from Stone.

Think of it as Iron Fist brewing the beer that inspired the collab, rather than the "Iron Fist version of the Stone beer".

I think it was around $4? Somebody else will have to confirm, I didn't pay much attention to the price besides thinking it was cheap.

I got it for $6 in OC at a place that usually has average prices, but can sometimes be $1 high.

I'm a few hours north of LA and haven't seen any, so was wondering if it was making it's way up north.. I really liked the stone version so I'm hoping to get my hands on this!

Ken is contract brewing at Iron Fist. This was the first release. He's not sure when the next beer will be released but hopefully Aloha Plenty will be made on the big system and get bottled at some point. That's an expensive beer to make though.

Maybe Iron Fist will finally be able to make worthwhile beer with Ken's recipes [IMG]
