I am staying in Irving for a few days and have a few hours to hit the town - Anything local I should check out? Thx for your help...

    Cheers!

Irving sucks in general. Las Colinas area isn't too bad...I live there for now.
Las Colinas beverage is the only bottle shop.
Meddlesome Moth and Common Table are ~15 mins away.
FM Smokehouse has a pretty good tap list and overpriced food if you aren't looking to go too far.
You bringing any locals to trade? The coffee-hibiscus saison from TH was solid last time I was near Philly.

I'm always sad when an Irving thread comes up and Las Colinas Beverage and FM Smokehouse are still the only places worth mentioning. I liked both those places when I lived there, but damned if the lack of nearby variety wasn't frustrating.

There is a new spot on 635 that's part of a small chain called 54th St with a large tap list (if you can find it).
But it's kind of a bro spot.

The postive about Irving is that you aren't too far from a lot of stuff in many directions.

There is a new pizza place in Las Colinas that opened yesterday next to the LA Fitness at 114 & MacArthur called Spin Pizza. They don't have a big tap list, but of the ~10 taps most of them were local with some fairly decent offerings. And the pizza was among the best I have had, easily competing with places like Cavalli.

That new 54th St place has pretty decent food, but I was disappointed with their beer list. It was just a larger version of a typical chain restaurant beer list.
