I noticed Westy 12 at my local liquor today. Just wondering if $28 a bottle is reasonable.

Cheaper than a flight to Belgium

One bottle? Fuuuuuck no. I'm not saying you can get it cheaper - it's not significantly different / better than Rochefort 10 and Abt 12 to pay that much for it.

Compared with other places its a decent price - its still a lot to pay for a beer and there are plenty of better values out there. I still buy one every now and then.

It was $50 in San Diego. So, I'd say it's reasonable.

I have seen it as high as $50 and as low as $35, if I recall right. And this is the black/gray/whatever market stuff I am referring to.

I think I paid about $20, but that was when I was on vacation in Madrid.

<--- THIS! TBH $28 is on the lower end of where i've heard it being sold elsewhere. Have heard similar to what fred said regarding comparisons, but hey....it's a notch on the bedpost!

Put it this way - at the Belgium online beer stores it is 12 euro, and shipping costs a bomb, so $28 seems fine if you really want to try it and tick it off.

Agnostic of it is 'worth it' it is a fair price to have it in a store in the US.

Last year a place near pittsburgh had them for $25 and I didn't want to pay that for one. So I passed. Quads arent really my thing though. Guess it wasn't such a bad price after all.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I would have totally bought it :grinning: yeah it is expensive compared to extremely similar beers, but I wouldn't care... I would have skipped all the way home whispering to the bottle that I was going tick the crap out of it later

It's high -- but if you haven't tried it before, I'd go for it.
