I just had my 1st ever Bud Light Lime.

TBH, I liked it. I love Gin and Tonics and Daiquiris and anything with lime flavoring. I found the BLL to be refreshing and easy to drink.

BUT, I never tasted anything that resembled beer. I felt liked I was drinking 7up spiked with neutral grain spirits (Gin or Vodka).

To be beer it has to have Hops. Maybe my taste buds just aren't subtle enough but I couldn't detect any. I know some of the AB products are classified as 'Malt Beverages' but BLL clearly is labelled as 'Beer'.

    input?

Lambics technically have hops too, but not ones that are meant to be tasted. Something tells me there is just a minimal amount of hops just to say they have them. Macro lagers have never been particularly hop-forward.

Since it's made from the things that beer is made from, it is beer. Lime isn't native to beer but a lot of craft beers include ingredients that aren't native to beer either. Having said that, that is one brew that is not on my bucket list.

According to AB's Bud Light Lime Fact Sheet (their name),
"Bud Light Lime is brewed using a combination of barley
malts, non-malted cereal grains, subtle hopping and natural
lime flavor. It contains 4.2 percent alcohol by volume (ABV)."

BTW, it is clear from their marketing they are going after the spirits market with this beer (especially tequila). They have recipes on their site for "BudLightLime-a-Ritas".
