Is SARA hard to trade for? Did Cali people actually manage to hype up a brewery that I have access to? Man, I should stop being lazy and trade some shit! I figured it was typical Cali beer that didn't trade for anything so I was just going to drink it...

All of the trade threads I've seen are Red Peak level. Needless to say, I'm hesitant.

There are traders in the coveted areas of Vermont, Iowa (hah), and Tampa that aren't just looking to land the rarest beer possible with the releases near them. They're just insanely hard to find at this point. I've been fortunate enough to find people like this and I reward them handsomly with whatever beer they're interested in that gets released in Michigan.

I'm definitely envious of people located close to the flavor(s) of the month - while I have no complaints about amazing Michigan beers and our yearly releases (BB Pt5, Black Note, Kuhnhenn beers), we haven't exactly had a brewery that's been as hyped as much as something like Toppling Goliath or Hill Farmstead. The most hyped beer releases in the past few years has been the release of KBE and Batch 9000.

Just trade with people that are from 2011 or earlier. 2012ers ruined it. Thanks, bitches.

Or, make a reasonable offer with beers you have for trade, and avoid being called a dicktouch.

This week I saw an ISO which was so bad I clicked on the profile, and the dude had a join date of 2007.

Did anyone actually confirm Red Peaks existence??

A local BA alluded to him having visited Red Peak, when I BM'd him about it he responded with a single cryptic sentence. I figured it wasn't worth anymore effort after that.

Douchiness sticks out, and such a big percentage of BA's membership joined in 2012 that it appears a larger percentage of the douchiness comes from 2012....

Going back, the crazy whales used to be Blabaer and then the first release of BB Pt5th. Ann was certainly the start of a new era of stupid uberwhales.

BA Abraxas and the latest TG releases are definitely the latest to get everyone's jimmies rustled. I have been happy to try BA Abraxas a number of times and I have also tried the TG releases. I traded my KBBS for less than the going rate because well, I don't give a fuck.

Jeez, some newbs in this thread. Does no one here remember the Bullfrog Mafia? Those guys had it together when it came to hyping the latest and greatest Bullfrog beer.

I know what you mean. But one of the best traders I've ever traded with joined in 2012, so I try to base my opinions on the individual, not the join date. (I did click on a profile attached to an eyeroll-worthy ISO just so I could check the join date, so clearly I still have a ways to go.)

i'm still not convinced that this place actually exists and isn't some elaborate joke. when someone offers something as earth shattering don q for a bottle of brittka and gets nothing (at least that i saw), something is really fishy.

edit: i wouldn't mind some egg on my face in this regard. i've certainly been wrong many times before.
