Is it me or is it the pils?

Now that makes sense. I had the beer and thought it was quite good but definitely felt much more German than Bohemian to me.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I find the fact that you stalk Jever to be pretty awesome.

Perhaps the folks of Boston Beer Company think similar to you in that today (2017) Pilsners are more popular (i.e., increased sales for this brand segment). Maybe Noble Pils was before its time?

    Cheers!

Chris, have you tried this beer yet? If so, what are your thoughts on this beer?

    Cheers!

I have not had it. I'm generally not a fan of Sam Adams except for their Boston lager. Contrary to the consensus, I never cared for Noble Pils. I have a lot of respect for their achievements though. Maybe I'll grab a single at some point.

I was/am a fan of a number of Sam Adams beers:

    · Black Lager (only available now in a variety pack so this is a pass for me)

    · Old Fezziwig Ale (only available in a variety pack so this is a pass for me)

    · Hallertau Imperial Pilsner as it was brewed in 2007

I am sure there are other beers I should include on this list but…

    Cheers!

Noble Pils, IMO was just bad marketing of their product. Would have sold better if name choice was more accessible t the ordinary drinker. But even year round IPAs don't work. Year round distribution and freshness just don't go hand in hand with craft beer.

The best thing about Trumer is that they're producing an Austrian/German tasting beer by brewing it here in the 'States. Ami brewers take note.

Straub Pilsner and Stoudt's Pils are definitely worth a try if you like gentle stylistic cues that Pilsners embody. Being from PA I can find them in the warmer months when I crave them.

I never dug the Noble Pils as well, their Boston Stock Ale was my favorite a long time ago, I also like their Winter Warmer.
