Is the Approval Queue being processed?

    Is it me or have no places been added for quite a while? Apologies if I've missed an announcement or if it's simply you guys being too busy or something, but it's been bugging me since I added a brewery about 10 days ago and I want to add all their beers too.

    Waiting for a mod or the Bros to add their comments, but I would assume it's mostly to do with how busy the site's been with updates and the like recently. I do believe there are moderators to allow or deny the addition of places to the database who have nothing to do with technical aspects, but I could be wrong. If so, there's no reason for slack. If there's a shortage, there should simply be (just a couple) more mods.

    The oldest one has been in the queue for a month... it just seems weird. Unless the system is that they then have to enter all of the information manually after you submit it.

    We have three Site Editors, which is a volunteer position that was created years ago to help us out. They obviously have jobs and lives outside of BA, and they've done a great job to date, however, the influx of new places has created a workload that they can't keep up with; and we can't keep up with it either, which is why we recruited them.

    We're exploring solutions, but in the meantime we'll handle the queue as soon as possible.

    What is the process for approving added locations and photos? It seems like this takes a long time. Have you considering designating a few users as approvers so these could get done faster? Sort of like Foursquare enables Superusers.

    Let me be the first to volunteer.
