I mean since they are rare is it more sought after or just a regular $4$ beer, new to the trading stuff.

What extra would those two take for me to try and get a CBS is really what I want to figure out

    There we go.

This is prolly gonna sound more judgmental/curmudeongly than intended, but if you're gonna make a post like this, just cut right to the quick o' things. I may be philosophically against the idea of commodity-style beer trading (read: it takes a certain "level" x+y to net z), but if you really wanna know what it could take to get a specific beer, simply ask. We tend to be an accepting community, especially with those who seem to wanna play nice...

And, no, sadly, I have no helpful information on your quest...sorry...good luck...

Let's put it this way... I think Texans value the 512 BAPP a lot more than non-Texans. That seems to be a recurring theme in the ISO/FT's recently.

Yes, it's limited. Yes, it was hard for you guys to get. Yes, it reviews pretty well. Yes, it came from a barrel.

But it doesn't really have much of a name, and it's score isn't that good that people are going to trip over themselves for it. Lots of small batch brewery release beers are incredible, but never catch on in the trading community. For example, Sebago's Bourbon Barrel Barleywine is a legit world class beer from an otherwise average brewery that is better than half the stuff batted about in FT:ISO - yet in the trading community it's nothing more than a beer I've sent out as extras.

CBS falls on the opposite end of this spectrum - monstrously hyped, brewed for many years then finally bottled, comes from a craft beer darling brewery, etc, etc.

It's just a tough match to trade these two classes of beer.

It wouldn't take much for me to trade my Beer Geek Rodeo. I did just trade one for a Beatification though.

That Sebago was decent at best...I wouldn't even put it in the same area as most other world class BA Barleywines. We Texans may value (512) BA Pecan Porter more because it's damn good and we have few beers on the same level that are bottled but I also think CBS holders value their beer way more than the supply should dictate. That's all just opinion though.

Brucebruce you need to take the advice of a few people in the SW forum. Stop worrying about how much you can squeeze out of these limited release beers and start working on trading relationships with people in different areas of the country. I just sent Beer Geek Rodeo as an extra to a trade partner that hooked me up with BA Yeti and now BA Ruffian.

To each their own opinion, but I've heard nothing but rave reviews, and you yourself gave it a 3.95, which is a lot more than "decent at best". And if you look at the reviews, it's also scoring extremely well from out-of-market reviewers. (And also is scoring higher than BA Pecan Porter, but I digress)

Regardless, I was just picking out a random beer to illustrate a point. The reviews and limited nature of that beer is enough that it should be a hell of a lot more in demand than it is. (Just like the Pecan Porter) But, that's the way the trade market works these days - it's all about hype.
