I'd be more worried about giving my kids cereal than craft beer. Almost all cereals have BHT added to packaging to "maintain freshness." That stuff is no good.

Why does there have to be ANY BPA in the plastic they use? They have BPA-free plastic water bottles, don't they?

My concern is not the negligible short term exposure, but the long term effects of drinking craft from cans, i.e. it has been shown BPA can build up over time in the fatty tissue and possibly cause long term health problems as ones levels build over a life time. Not enough info or research out there to put me at ease.

Yes there is tons of BPA in craft beer cans. Send all the cans you have to me and I'll save your lives and drink them all. I'll send you a thank-you note as well.

Maybe the problem is the fatty tissue and not BPA.

Hate to break it to you but even healthy people have fatty tissue. Average is considered 12-20 % of total body weight.

On this same note most keg lines are PVC.

I interviewed someone from Oskar Blues and he said the beer reacts with the non-BPA liners. They are currently working with Ball to try and figure out a non-BPA solution.

Your death is more likely to be caused by drowning in a bathtub than BPA. It's not worth worrying about unless you're the type who already worries about the dangers of olive oil in dipping bowls.

I drink almost daily from Nalgene bottles that contain BPA so I'm really not worried about the little bit extra I get from beer cans. I'm sure at some point Ball and the big brewers will come up with a BPA free can lining to save us all.

But there's enough to scare you?

I'm going to go dump out my 12 pack of Diet Coke as well because I read somewhere Splenda causes brain lesions.

Nothing mass produced is "good" for us........nothing. End of story stop drinking if you're that concerned. But you may as well consider refraining from all things mass produced
