Is this a 2009 Speedway Stout?

    I recently purchased a bottle of Speedway stout (Alesmith brewing co) from a home in the wall bottle shop. The owner laughed and said the bottle had been there for 5 years. It does look like an older bottle, but is there any way of really knowing?

    There should be a bottled on stamp on the neck

    I have a bottle from 2012 but as the Flames fan said, there is a bottled on date stamped on mine.

    What color is the foil? They started with the grey foil in 2012 I think? Before that it was silver.

    Alesmith has only been dating bottles since around early 2013 to my knowledge. I drank some bottles of Speedway dated for April 2013 recently, but the Wee Heavy I drank 2 weeks ago had a store price tag dated for 11/2012, but no actual bottle dating. Their 750 ml bottles don't have a manufacture date code like most bombers do on the bottom either; so there is no real way to know the age on it as far as I know.
