Is this a counterfeit BCBS?

    Wondering if BCBS ever had a plain, black cap? I bought these from a guy on eBay (I know, probably my first mistake!) a couple years ago when I was getting into beer and going through my fridge I just noticed that they don't have the same caps as the other BCBS beers I've been able to source.

    Well, if you bought it on eBay it was supposed to be an empty bottle. Just consider whatever is in there a bonus.

    Yes prior to a particular year, '11I think, BCBS had a plain black cap. I'm not sure about the old style white (<'09) bottles.

    I know that when I bought it there was a lot of "wink wink/nudge nudge" in terms of the bottle contents, but the general assumption was that the beer inside was represented by the packaging. I think now they only allow empty bottles and I bought this a couple years ago right before they shut down the beer trade.

    Plain black for the '11 is correct.

    all prior to 2012 had black caps (except 2008 + earlier which had a normal goose cap)... only in 2012 did they start with a brand specific BCBS cap.

    That's how I felt when I got a BCBVS in a trade but it is legit. Whoo (Ric Flair style!)
