Am I seeing green or is it just weird light and a dark beer?

One sure way to tell... what does it taste like?

In what stage is this beer? Fermentation ongoing or done? That looks like krausen bubbles residing.

Post primary. Recently added coconut and vanilla beans. If you looked close you can probably see some of the beams swimming. I hope the scummy looking bubbles are a new krausen or some imperfection from the coconut oils. It tastes fine, super vanillaier

Haha the lightest you see is a paint strainer filled with 2 pounds of toasted coconut. Not exactly submersed too well

What you suggest is my next guess if the bubbles showed up shortly after your additions.

From what I can tell it looks fine.

Keg/bottle it, let it carb and judge from there.

    Sure looks 'infected' to me.

    Here's what you should do:
Let it ride a couple weeks.
Bottle at 2.6 vols of CO2.
Ship it (post-paid) to me immediately so it can be disposed of safely.

I'd say you're fine! As for @SFACRKnight 's post... that could be the start of an outbreak/zombie apocalypse

I have used coconut in the past and it always messes with you. There is going to be a bit of oil that sits on top and messes with krausen. When you rack it or bottle it be sure to try and leave that behind.

Hardly surprising, given that coconut is the source of coconut oil, and contains butter-like qtys of fat.

Didn't realize I sounded surprised. You hardly came off condescending at all.

Didn't think you sounded surprised. Was actually confirming your assessment. But here's some unsolicited advice you can take as condescending or not (it's not intended that way)... try not to be too thin skinned on this forum. And Welcome Aboard.

Yeah, everyone need to keep in mind that we're all a bunch of 'scientists' in this forum, and when's the last time that you knew a scientist with a bedside manner? Bluntness sometimes rules around this place, but no offense should ever be taken.:grinning: (I'm not pointing at you VikeMan; it's just that the opportunity arose for me to say something that I've noticed in general around here.)
