Is this reasonable?

    I posted in the ISO:FT forum looking for a bottle of Pliny. A BA beermailed me saying that he had a case of Pliny and while he wasn't interested in my trade offering he would sell me two bottles at $30 each plus $15 for shipping. $75 for two bottles of beer? Seems like a complete scam.

    I am definitely not bitting. Even if everyone that responds to this thread says that it's totally a fair offer. That's just way too expensive for me. I just want to know if this guy should be called out publicly, because it seems like it's a bit of a racket.

    And if the dude that offered me this deal is reading this, no offense man, but that deal doesn't sound fair in the slightest. Either that, or I REALLY underestimated the value of Pliny.

    That's freaking ridiculous. Pliny is like $5-6 a bottle. Personally I wouldn't call him/her out publicly, but I'd send a nice little BM back to him/her.

    Yeah that's ridiculous and I'm sure the bros would very much frown upon this practice. This isn't an auction site.

    I picked up 4 bottles yesterday. Certainly not the freshest but freshest in Denver and I paid $6

    I wouldnt worry about offending him. He is trying to screw you - big time. Like others have said. 6-7 bucks per bottle. Its fairly easy to trade for, so find yourself someone else to deal with.

    #1 - This probably should have been a thread in the trading help forum

    #2 - Among the trading community, there is a big difference between offering to mule someone something at cost (pretty cool) and offering to sell someone something at 300% of the retail cost (pretty weak). I think both of those are *technically* against the open forum rules.

    The name escapes me, but I'm pretty sure there is an internet site somewhere that will provide the same services that this guy is offering but at a lower cost. Today is a sad day.

    If your looking for some pliny I know there's plenty of great cali traders that will help out on this just post a ISO/ FT locals

    Yoda22 is claiming he purchased Pliny for $20/bottle and is now trying to sell them to other BA's for $30/bottle.

    And not reading my entire original thread was your first mistake.

    I never considered sending it to him, I was just checking with the group because I didn't want to call this guy out if what he was offering was actually fair. But fair or not, I knew I would never do it.
