I had done a few searches before I placed an order, but I placed one feeling fairly safe (plus: Cantillon) last Tuesday. They advertise "one day handling", but I didn't hear anything, so I emailed them on Saturday. The response I received is that it was boxed on Friday and would be shipping Monday. Now it's Tuesday night and I've still yet to see anything. At what point do I cancel/dispute with Paypal? Or should I give them some more time?

Give these things time. I have bought some belgian beers (not form trappist world), but they took about a month to receive. They were held up in Antwerp customs for a solid 2 weeks before they were stateside. I was also hesitant at first and threatened to cancel the deal, but it was well worth the wait. Hope this helps. Cheers!

You have to remember that you are ordering beer from a place that is on the other side of the world. I've never ordered any Trappist beer from Belgium but I have ordered other things and they have all taken considerably longer than if I would have ordered them here (obviously)

For example, I ordered glassware from Germany and it took nearly three weeks to get to me.

Well, my concern isn't that it hasn't arrived, it is that they haven't confirmed shipping, despite assurances on their website and in email that I'd get a tracking number. I suppose it is a function of placing my first large Belgian order (the anxiety that is).

I have to agree with the other folks who've responded so far. It's best to just place the order and try to forget about it. I've had several parcels from Belgium shipped to New York without any more trouble than a couple weeks delay thanks to customs. If it were me, I wouldn't worry. Sometimes shops in Europe don't move at a pace we're accustomed to here. I'm sure your package will get here no problem.

Hope it works out for you, I've been tempted, but haven't pulled the trigger yet

When it arrives, don't forget to check the box for traps... *trappist* :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously, I'd always allow more time than you expected - although I, too, would feel your anxiety :sunglasses:

Yes they are legit. The Fou that I drink this past winter can confirm that.

I've ordered a few boxes from trappistworld with no problems. Their packaging is not as bombproof as other places I've ordered from, but I've never had a broken bottle. I think it's much too early for you to be concerned.

Well, it seems it was unfounded after all. They just sent me the tracking and it was indeed sent on Monday. Those loons have me acting crazy!
