Literally; this was what the manager at Beachwood LB told me on Sunday. I would say your facts paint an even more bleak picture.

I tend to agree, palates change but I think the industry has caught up. I went to the annual DIPA Fest that kicks off SF Beer Week (been going for years) and this was the first year that I dont think Younger cracked my top 5.
I think a bunch of us remember the days you could get Younger no problem and have watched over the last couple years turn into a shit show no matter where its offered. Media hype and the rise of craft are to blame.
Like you, I dont think Ill give a shit if I get any next year, its not worth the hassle when a lot of breweries are making just as good and better TIPAs.

As I keep reading this thread the milkshake scene from Pulp Fiction occurs to me.

So what's your top 5 from SF beer week?

I'm debating whether or not to go to the Bottle Room in Whittier this Sunday.

Top 5 TIPAs ? Put it this way, these five TIPA's I thought were all better than Younger. (PtY is still a great beer, this isnt a put down, I just thing other breweries have caught up)
    1) Triple Rock 'Nod N Smile'
    2) Heretic 'Evil3'
    3) Beachwood 'Hops of Fury'
    4) Moylans 'Hop Craic'
    5) Iron Springs 'Compulsry'

And these are just my five. They were all really good, at least the ones I had. I remember in years past it was PtY then everyone else. Other breweries have caught up

After all the mentions of Simtra I realized I hadn't had it in a while, so the day after I had Younger I went to my local shop and got a bottle. It was bottled 2/19 (just 5 days old then) and cost ~$10. And I have to say I probably enjoyed that bottle more than my Younger pour the day before. Though in the past PtY surely did blow me away multiple times.
