Is your beer fridge selection more about breadth or depth?

I try to keep a good stock built up. I love to offer a friend a beer they have never had..I tend to build it up and then I don't go to the store for a while and I start to empty it. It slowly turns into the beers I don't like as much. Need to stock up.

I am the same exact way, I love picking the perfect beer for the mood and I am also a very indecisive person. So I'll stand there with the fridge open for like 10 minutes until I finally choose what I want. I even take it out, let it sit on my coffee table and put it back because it might not be really what I want.

It would be nice to be normal :stuck_out_tongue:

And definitely the case with me. The variety of styles and choices within those styles lets me pick the perfect one for the occasion. It is a hobby after all, and I do enjoy it!

Also another reason, and one reason why my friend only keeps a few beers in his fridge is self control. He sees beer as something like chocolate cake. If he had a cake on his counter, it would just temp him to keep have more slices. Kinda like when your on a diet, you probably don't want to even buy potato chips, if you see them you might eat them.

I probably have between 1-2 dozen different kinds of beer in my house at any given time, including homebrew. I try to keep the basics in stock -- a couple IPAs, some darker/maltier brews, a few hard-to-gets, and an assortment of other easy to drink low-tier craft brews that keep me in beer without breaking the bank. I hunt distributors for good end of season deals, too, which is how I got a couple cases of Brooklyn BCS and a case of Saranac Trail Mix for $15 each. The BBCS is the only beer I have any "depth" of at the moment, aside from my homebrew (5 gal batches).
