That's true. But maybe he was trying to coax it out of you. I've done that before and had it done to me.

 

What's the point of putting out what you have for trade if people are just going to ask for what they would rather anyway? It's weird to me that it's as common as it is around here.

I have [X] FT, I want [Y]

Someone responds, they have [Y] but they want [Z]

Totally do. I couldn't tell if you were annoyed that he requested that or not. Sometimes i'll ask privately if they have one FT and spruce up the offer if they do.

 

I think the trader thought that it was plausible that if he had the MIII that he had the MIV too (seeing is that the trader is from SC and that brewery is in SC).
I see what you're saying though. I think it would have been more ridiculous if he said "I don't want your MIII, but do you have a Hand of Glory instead".

 

The thing is, the user that responded does this fairly frequently. Replying to posts asking if they have this or that or would you trade for x, when it's not even a beer an OP has listed FT/ISO. If you're going to do that, just take it to messages instead of posting in the thread.

Not saying that couldn't change someone's mind or pivot in that direction, but if there are specifics listed, it seems so out of left field to ask about/offer something not there. Hence, again why I think that sort of inquiry should be through messages.
