Sorry, I am not completely familiar with some of the vernacular. You are looking for 3 Chez Monus?

Chez Monus is so rare I don't think anyone would be giving one up for less than something at the handjee level.

 

I thought JD Cake was extremely rare....at/above Handjee? I saw JD Cake and said “whoaaa” which I wouldn’t do for Handjee. Maybe I’m the minority.

 

Jackie Daniels cake is an uber whale above the level of the beers civilian-level traders are familiar with. Maybe that's why this seems a little esoteric? The OP has good reason to think he could get 3x Chez with that as the anchor. He knows what he's doing.

ISO: Opinions from people who only had both

 

I think the issue is that people with multiple Chezs at this point probably have no interest in trading multiples for a JD Cake (full disclosure, I opened my last Chez a few months ago and I have a few friends who still have anywhere between 1-3 bottles each). Chez and JD Cake are both great beers. I admittedly have a hard time thinking JD Cake is an "uber whale" considering I drank a bottle at Himmeriget fairly recently. Good luck OP but don't be surprised if it doesn't get done even if the value is "right on" or whatever.

 

Everyone I know with multiple chez have no interest in trading one let alone multiple. The trade offer is fair though.

 

I have no horse in the race but I can say from experience that @Christoph21 takes immaculate care of the bottles in his possession which should go a long way to anyone out there who is on the fence about trading for an "old beer" in stout years.

Whether value is spot on or not I can’t imagine anyone giving up 2-3 chez for a bottle of JD cake....we’re talking about two bottles that both are nearing ghost/uber whale status and like the op said the people with multiple bottles of chez may not be traders

I've removed the word whale from my vocabulary. All it leads to is me wasting money on bullshit that turns out to be mediocre. Never again.

 

I must say, seeing people trade for/openly discuss Chez Monus and JD Cake make me very nostalgic. Admittedly I think this is very unlikely to get done as per the sentiment of the OP is an accurate one- if you've held onto multiple Chez you’re unlikely to be a trader, but still very happy. “Shame on Us”
