Hey All - I am looking to bottle a batch of homebrew in 375ml cork & caged bottles (i.e., the kind like Drie Fonteinen, Girardin, etc.). Does anybody save these bottles and would be looking to trade them for some beer from California? I live in San Francisco and can get pretty much anything available around here (Russian River, Almanac, etc.) for the empty bottles if you'd like to trade. Let me know! Cheers, Trey
northern has them for $1 each http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/375-ml-belgian-style-beer-bottles-cork-finish
He's looking for the 375ml champagne style bottles... I would love to get my hands on those too but I don't think anyone sells them on a Homebrew scale, which is why he is looking for someone who has saved up the empties.
Wow those are hard to get. The best I could find after a bit of a search was this place. Min order of 30,000, average cost per bottle is 25 cents. If 100 people went in all involved could get 300 bottles for $75 http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/375ml-champagne-wine-glass-bottle_60262606619.html
Don't blame you. Beautiful package. I drink a lot of cork topped bottles now just to get some empties for sour beer.
I have tried to fill wine bottles with the (bevel??) at the bottom. It's a PITA to try to get the wand tip to retract. Any good ideas for filling these if you do get them?
I just use a racking cane with a 45 degree angle cut at the bottom no filler tip. A clamp on the line works to shut off flow when needed.
This came up in a "Jester King" bottle thread a while back; less than 30k but I think they still had a full palate minimum order. http://www.unitedbottles.com/en/wn-009-champenoise-375ml.aspx
