Royal Docks Brewing in Canton, Ohio. Clean vibe, good people including the owner/brewer who is always front and center. They do every style they attempt well and offer a couple of beers on cask at all times. The English style food menu is fantastic.

Steady Habit in East Haddam is, for me, the best new brewery in 2015 (which is saying a lot because Kent Falls is *amazing*).

Small outfit putting out world class hoppy beer after world class beer. Every time I go to CT i hit Steady Habit and get a growler of every beer they have on tap because it this point i consider "that it's steady habit" to be a guarantee o excellence.

I'll also vote for BLDG8 in MA. One beer, a delicious well-balanced IPA. Small place, nice guys. Excited to see what they end up doing.

Free Range Brewing, Charlotte, NC. Fantastic beer and taproom, focusing on local ingredients from coffee to foraged ingredients. Great session ales (IPA, saison) as well for those who have to drive. It's across the street from the original NoDa Brewing Co. (of Hop Drop N Roll fame).

    Please define "exceptional"

Is that among the new breweries in 2015? Or as compared to all the other breweries? Or is it something else?

The former. Which new brewery has impressed you this year? If it can hold its own alongside the many many established breweries out there, all the better.

    Southern Brewing, Athens, GA.
They made a saison with a single yeast strain harvested and isolated from azalea flowers growing on the property before the brewery was built, and that homegrown GA yeast has been used in a few delicious derivations. They are doing other amazing things with yeast and bacteria, and I think it would make a very interesting and informative read.

Birds Fly South from Greenville, SC. Focused on small batch saisons and sours, they're putting out beers of exceptionally high quality and are flying under the radar.

  12. dpool

    dpool Zealot (593) Jan 8, 2007 Arizona

Wren House in Phoenix. Their Brewer comes from Big Sky and they've already been killing it. A bunch of beers are in bourbon barrels for bottle released at the beginning of the year. One to look out for in AZ

Indeed. I was going to toss Call to Arms in there as well. Those are the big 3 from this year in CO. Little Machine might end up being one, although they technically don't open until tomorrow so they probably don't count.

May have released their first beer late december 2014, but should be considered a 2015 IMO.

Deviate in Indianapolis opened around Labor Day and they are my favorite brewery in the Indy area. Their owners recently quit their day jobs and are brewing full time so I expect even more success.

Swiftwater Brewing in Rochester New York. Opened in January of this year. The owner was a very active member of our local homebrew club who made great homebrew. He has continued to make phenomenal beer at the professional level. There are new and interesting beers constantly.
