A good friend of mine lived in Freiburg for a bit and discovered that Feierling Inselhopf is his absolute favorite beer. I was thinking it would be cool to surprise with a growler of it for a special occasion (I have to admit I want to try it for myself as well).

I'm wondering if there is anybody in or near Freiburg that would be interested in shipping me a growler - not necessarily right away but at some point. Since international shipping will be very expensive I could pay for shipping/paypal you, ship you beer in return (Hair of the Dog, Russian River, Firestone Walker etc...) or work something else out. I'm simply gauging interest as a first step.

    Cheers!

The growler concept is fairly unknown in Germany (completely unknown?) but you might find someone with access to bottles. Or maybe @LBerges knows where you can find some in the online world.

I've seen people getting something similar filled at Zoigl places.

I searched all the online beer portals for purchasing beer in Germany, and Feierling Inselhopf doesn't come up at all. Unless one lives or visits Freiburg, it doesn't look like you can buy this beer. I also don't think any of us live in the Frieburg or Briesgau area, so I'm not confident you'll be able to fulfill this any time soon.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'm just curious about this though... I was under the impression that Feierling didn't bottle and their beer could only be brought home in growlers like this one:

That's possible. Maybe they do that at Feierling, I think it's in general a great idea to get fresh beer at your local brewery. As @boddhitree has stated, I don't think any of the German BAs are in Freiburg. Who knows, maybe someone will chime in...
