I actually found myself enjoying reading ISO:FT posts without everyone throwing their unsolicited opinion, but not really a big deal either way. I get the feeling that the tone will be a bit more respectful now though, at least for a short time until everyone forgets about the non-reply versions.

I think mostly that it bumps the thread for no real reason. I mean, who cares that you sent a BM? The OP already knows, so the only affect is to discourage others from responding to the post, which is not only pointless but also kind of douchebaggy (at least if it's intended to deter interest so that you can more easily complete the trade).

Now, I don't think that's enough reason to deter posts, there are lots of perfectly good reasons to reply to an ISO. But "BM sent" is not one.

They're pointless and against the rules. If you send a message, the person will get it / be notified. Posting that you sent one is redundant and a waste of space. It's also a bump, which is not allowed. Plus ... no one cares.

Should I post "BM not sent" if I don't send one? Seems to be about as useful.

You can disagree all you want, but it's against the rules now and it was before.

You can disagree all you want. For years the ISO:FT posts were flooded by people just saying "BM sent" over and over and over. It becomes pointless. The person posting the ISO:FT will obviously see the BM people sent. If the person posting the ISO:FT thread cant see a BM sent with the new notifications they should not be using the internet.

I liked the split between trade forum and talk forum. I just don't trust the lot of you to keep it above the belt :stuck_out_tongue:

But hey, today's a new day, amirite?

And re: beermail sent- I always saw it as someone putting a mark or a claim to an ISO/FT post- as in 'I am already on this, so don't bother sending a beermail'.

    Yeah, nix it.

This is what i'm curious about. Who's going to moderate the moderators? I don't trust any of you assholes to properly moderate the trade forums :sunglasses:

You know it is pointless to disagree. Just accept it and move on!

On another note, I still nominate myself for trading mod. :grinning:

It has been going ok so far. Nothing really bad in there. Some off the wall trades, but no one is attacking yet. :grinning:

i'd like for the posting to stay open, but i have a feeling some people won't be able to resist throwing their worldly, know-it-all opinions all over the place.

I 100% agree. I also think though those people that are in those threads throwing in their bullshit opinions should just be deleted from those threads by the Bros or by moderators.

Try this out. Go to the ISO:FT forum (or any of the forums) and scroll to the bottom of the page. There is a little tab that's sort of difficult to see (it took me a while to find it) centered in the page that says "Thread Display Options". If you open that you can sort the threads in a variety of ways, including by thread creation time, which would get rid of the 'bumping' problem that a few people have noted.
