I received these 2 alerts and would like to know why...

I have multiples of what is being offered and competed similar trades. I didn't post any ISO:FT for a while and had no bites on older posts and #1 on these alerts was the first time I posted. What gives?

    1. FT: Stouts/Porters ; ISO: deGarde was deleted. Reason: repost of FT too soon. Modify original post.[/paste:font]

    2. FT: HF Works of Love: De Molen ; ISO: FO was deleted. Reason: repost of FT too soon. Modify original post.[/paste:font]

Must have not read the rules thoroughly enough. 72 hours is a loooong time. People don't dig that deep, I feel.

    Thanks for the explanation.

You can always edit an ISO/FT instead of reposting, we discourage reposting because it bumps other peoples ISO further down the page. If you see reposting report it, please.

I have boldfaced the rules that are broken 90% of the time,

Yeah so I just posted a thread that was different from my others....ISO: See the Stars ; FT: HF Works of Love: De Molen

Sure i had a post SIMILAR that was asking for a FO for my HF but that is a separate post. I don't want to modify that offer. Why is this a problem?

Why couldn't you have just put both ISO in the original post since the FT is the exact same?

Because it is a separate trade request. I want to do FO for a WoL AND a StS for a WoL. Its hard to find someone that has both that was 2 of the same bottle so I separated them. What's the harm in that?

IMO, then mention the two possibilities in the same ISO. No need to post it twice. That chews up bandwidth, pushes someone else off the first page and has the look of trying to bump your own ISO.

The rules are in place for a reason. You need to be thoughtful and responsible when you post an ISO. If you change your mind, edit the original post.

I took a glance...looks like two ISOs for Trillium beers within the 72 hour window. Luckily the one he posted today falls outside that window.

Ok I can edit it, but still don't get it since they are 2 separate trades with different asks. The FO I just want a simple 1:1, the StS I'm looking for 1:1 with expansion. It just seems like a whole lot of explaning in 1 post and then if I close one and not the other but the other is still open. Idk, just my .02 but its ok. Thanks.

It's really not that hard...what it requires is effort on the part of the OP to explain what they want. That's why ISOs are supposed to be as specific as possible. We used to limit the number of ISOs you could post to three/week to prevent this, but with the number of beers now available, that's not workable. Instead, the honus is on the poster to do their homework ahead of time.

    Because you can easily post:

ISO: List FT: HF Works of Love
and then list the two bottles you are interested in 1:1, and mention you can do two separate trades.

Easy enough and everyone interested in Works of Love will check out your post.

If everyone listed their bottles for trade and a separate trade post for EACH beer they are interested in, the forums would be stupid busy and not user-friendly.
