You are right! I remember I bought some Ram Rod for a huge birthday party I threw back in 1988. Everyone (including myself) loved the name. That beer was by far the most popular beer at the party. I had 3, as I have found 3 caps - I always shove them in my pocket, as a way of keeping them, but more importantly, as a way of remembering what & how much I drank!

There are truly some great 'capologists' on BA!

SirCap you are correct. I have failed you all. *pulls out samurai sword and falls on it*

I had to look it up because the R was so similar to the Rodenbach I just always assumed it was without looking it up. Of course when you guys were pounding Ram Rods in '88, I was still playing with Micro Machines:slight_smile:

You really failed hard. Send all of your caps to me as punishment. As far as playing with Micro Machines at that time goes, so was I. I was drinking Ram Rods at age...umm...seven.

Here is my collection of mystery bottle caps.
Any idea what they are? I don't.
The red, Mexican looking one was found in Ireland. The gold one with the swan was given to me by a friend who went to Israel. I got the other 3 in the US. I think I drank some of those. The one with the R has blue foil stuck to it.
    Thanks for the help.

The bottom left cap is one of the most widely debated caps among collectors. Some say it was as Anheuser Busch short lived beer others say it was a Hawaiian beer. Bottom right is Oregon Ale and beer Co "trail stash Amber ale". Bottom Middle one is a mystery to me currently.

You guys are all so good, you make me look like an amateur! I didn't even get a chance to play 'what's my cap' this time as you'd nailed them all while I was travelling home from vacation. I like it best when someone posts an unknown cap at 12:00pm in Pacific time zone and then I get to search for the name while you guys are still sleeping. Cheers.

I think I've identified 3 of the 4 caps in this latest scan....

Top left (which may be upside down): Poland - Van Pur S.A. The brand is likely to be 'Karpackie' and the beer is 'Super Mocne 9%'
Top right: Poland - Browar Okocim. The brand is 'Harnaś' and the beer is probably 'Jasne Pełne'
    Bottom left: sorry don't know
Bottom right: USA - Twisted Manzanita Ales, California'. No brand/beer.

Excellent! The first one certainly appears to be upside down, upon further review.
I suppose I should have known the Twisted Manzanita was exactly that - the hills around here are home to that twisted and smoooothest of all trees... There is a previous, more abstract version before this, but l like this one better. A friend brought the last two back from his everywhere travels and never keeps track!
    Thanks, AndyCapper

You're welcome. Sorry I couldn't find any reference to the other US cap (bottom left). I have a slight amendment to the answer I offered for the 2nd Polish cap (top right). I think is more accurate to say that the brand is 'Piwo Jasne Pelne' which translates as 'Piwo' (beer) and 'Jasne Pelne' (bright full) or 'Lager beer' to be more accurate. Cheers.

    • Thanks! That one was a little extra baffling, because, if you look at it upside-down, it resembles a 'C' with a stripe through it. Also, in that position, the cap brand appears on the top of the cap, which, 5,500 times out of 5,502 make it the official 'top o' the cap". Just when I thought l had this curse of a hobby down...
