Going to scottsdale/chandler/phoenix area soon and looking for where i can get some crooked stave and prairie... Not familiar with area but dont mind driving around if need to. Thanks in advance.
I would look up total wine, whole foods, bevmo etc, and call around first to safe on gas;-). If wanting to drink at a bar I would recommend whole foods@ Scottsdale or a yardhouse, also world of beer in tempe are nice spots and good selection of craft. Cheers.
I doubt that you'll find any Crooked Stave around. We had some about a year ago but I don't think the distributor ever received anymore. Prarie isn't distributed here. Some of the best places to go would be Papago Brewing in South Scottsdale and Tops in Tempe. Both are combination bottle shops and tap houses and both are considered as amongst the best places in the country. Tops has slightly higher prices but because of that some beers last longer on the shelves there. There is also a Whole Foods in Chandler but they've gone downhill as of late with some key staff members leaving.
I believe Prairie does in fact distribute to AZ through Pitcher of Nectar, but it is so minimal and sporadic that it's almost impossible to get. Haven't seen any in a while, so maybe they stopped.
Whole Foods in Chandler still has a decent amount of Vielle and Surette (or St Bretta, always confusing the 3). We received a shipment of 'Merica last summer, nothing since.
Tops ad Sun Devil still have some crooked stave Funkwerks on the shelves. N Crooked Stave. I doubt Bevmo or Total Wine would have any. Maybe Bevmo Glendale... 'Merica was on shelves last year. Not sure if that distribution deal dried up with POND.
papago brewing in scottsdale has an amazing selection of bottles and draft available to take home or be enjoyed there one of the best bottleshops in the valley id say and yes they have crooked stave on the shelves surette veille and one other and if not there i know that my total wine and bevmo in glendale has crooked stave so most of the ones around should have it as well and like everyone said tops is a great selection for great beers as well....
