Ok, so we’re probably never making the cross country trip for some, but now that they bottle it…

I’d look for 1 bottle, 2 if you have the hook-up. I have access to Other Half, Mortalis, and a slew of varieties from the craft store.

I see RR moved the release date to end of March, so there’s time to talk. Other Half has anniversary releases now, so if any of that piques your interest, DM me and I can get something before it’s gone. Mortalis has BA stout releases intermittently. I’m usually there. Per person limits are usually decided day of release.

    Thanks!

Where did you see bottles of pty? Pretty sure that was just a Covid thing. No bottles mentioned on their IG. Haven’t had younger in years and would love to track it down if they do bottle again. Good luck!

From their website page, "Bottles will only be available in our brewpubs during the 2-week release March 24th- April 6th, 2023. Bottles will not be released online or available in our Gift Shops (just the pubs) and sold on a first come, first served basis. There is no requirement to eat or drink in our pubs to purchase bottles. But if you are going to wait in line, you might as well stay for a beer! As in year’s past, there is a 2-bottle limit per person."

@micada not sure where your at in NY or how close you are to Philadelphia…but Monks cafe had it on tap for like 3 weeks last year. They must’ve had 20+ kegs of it. That’s where I finally got to try it. FYI their first tapping is Monday the 20th along with an insane tap list. I suspect like last year though it’ll last for awhile and they’ll have a bunch of kegs

Unfortunately I’m on the Erie side of PA. Otherwise, I’d definitely be at Monks! Lots of you know I’m not even really a yellow beer guy, but PtY is one where the wife and I talked about a cross-country trip years ago before it became even more hyped than it was. Now we’re older, my palate is all about the stouts and barleywines, but it’d be nice to tip one back with the missus, if only at home.

I appreciate the looking out! Cheers!

I’m sure you’ve been told this before and probably don’t need the warning… but please, please don’t get your hopes up. I totally get wanting it solely for the tick, but that’s all you should be looking for. It’s a “good IPA,” perhaps “very good,” but those are really a dime a dozen these days.

I always say if you have access to fresh Hop Juju, think of it similarly to Younger. It really was a revelation having them side by side.

And considering Head Hunter and Elder are also good parallels, it makes even more sense.

Hah, yes, I’ve heard that. Now that I’m a few years into this fun craft beer thing, I get that the hype and FOMO are real things when one is chasing beers. Back then, I was more into “yellow beers,” but my tastes have changed so drastically, even the best quality yellow is “ok” to me. It’s kind of just a tick for me now, but I try to keep a little hype for the missed opportunity with the wife, who was so eager to give me a super fantastic trip to CA to get the most amazeballs beer. I mean, that’s love, right? She’s still so proud to have gotten me three Westvleteren 12s for our 30th anniversary, with the first world insane price of $50 each to get them.

You too…I appreciate the looking out. Cheers!

Hop JuJu, eh? That’s interesting. We see that regularly now, so if I score a PtY, totally doing a side by side!

…Ohio: hope you’re not near any of that chemical drama. Eesh. What a debacle.

This is the first time I’ve ever heard a west coast IPA referred to as yellow beer.

    If it’s not a stout or a barleywine…clearly it’s a yellow beer! LOL!

Also, FYI - sounds like they are sending PtY kegs to additional markets this year. I see they just got a shipment of half barrels in Maine this week going out to a bunch of bars.

When I went a couple years ago it was 2pp $10 each. They alotted enough to sell for 2 weeks at both RR locations. So definitely should be an obtainable bottle.

it’s definitely a pale beer (which i assume yellow beer is slang for pale beer)

There are only 4 types of beer as I see it: stouts, barleywines, yellow beers, fruit smoothie beers.
