was just thinking about how much I hate loud bars that I have to chew on my friends eardrum in order to talk to them at and how much I am turned off by that 'atmosphere' Post some good bars that serve at least a modest selection of craft goodies that are quiet enough for talking conversation to maybe elevated talking conversation. Cheers!
Both Republics are pretty tame. no TVs. Don't think they even play music if I recall. Calhoun has all Mn taps this month
Pats tap is one of the loudest places I've ever been if it's during a busy period. The tables are all way to crammed together, you'd better make friends with the people sitting next to you because you'll be intimately involved in their coversation. Hell one time I couldn't even hear myself let alone my date across the table.
Hmmm LOL ive always had a pretty quiet time at both Busters and Pats suppose the times ive been it has not been crowded @ Pats
Sporty's cuts that jib, and there are a few coffeehouses that serve MN Craft beers and aren't too loud. Ted's Rec, if you're into Surly Furious, Special Ex in a can, and woebegone St. Paul dives.
Ha wow people serve green death?? If you're in Rochester, The Tap House is good. I also just went to the Thirsty Belgian for the first time and enjoyed it. Both are pretty quiet, especially in the afternoon.
I found this to be true as well. Pat's Tap cranks the music up super loud and the acoustics of the place don't help it out at all. As a matter of fact, its one of the places that drove me to post this thread.
Mnpls/St Paul but I don't mind finding some spots in travel places. I find myself in Milwaukee and Chicago from time to time. (been to Centraal, Palm, Bomb Shelter, and trying to remember the other place... sugar maple? in Milwaukee)
