Hey all. I live in Madison County NY which is apparently a premier hop growing area (I don't really know, recently moved out here and haven't done that much research). I do know that there are multitudes of 1-2 acres of hop farms all over the immediate area. I have a few areas where I have natural trellising and wanted to try to grow a few bines. I know that I will not yeild right away and honestly my major concern is that my soil will not support them. I it almost nearly hard packed clay. Very red, very dense and has to have a high clay content to it. I am open to guidance and direction and also wondered if anyone had a few rhizomes they'd be interested in sharing. LEt me know and we can work out the details. Thanks in advance.
