www.wabeerweek.com.au you have to go to "tickets " to see what the AF is on went to the Beer Dego held by Brain Fitzgerald of Artisan Brewing At Stix bar , Burswood on Sun night. Really nice event, Brian seemed very cool, despite a couple of breweries stooged them at the last minute and didn't cough up the beer they had offered. food was great, and the pairings were excellent, beers from Artisan, Homestead and Boston. I hear a few events got canned due to poor ticket sales, shitted that there is no "night of the barrels" this year
You've got Tusk day instead! Seems beer week is a bit more subdued this year then last. A lot of places are focusing on Freo beer fest later in the week.
I'm having a blast! Sour Power at Mane Liquor with Beersine last night was pretty special (albeit light on in attendance) - I shared an Old Brown (blended Flanders Red/American Wild Ale) and we cracked open bottles of Mikkeller Stella 6 and Polly 1. Sweet & Sour at The Monk with Me & Mabel (and chefs from Co-Op & Millbrook) was an incredible experience - 8 course degustation with 7 courses of dessert paired with sour beer (hello diabetes) including a weird fennel/rye sour I brewed for the dinner which was like drinking snot (in a good way). Tonight I'll be at Where The Wild Things Are at DTC which will be pretty hard to top. ~11 extremely geeky wild beers, some of which are paired with an extravagant wild feast (game, foraged, weird, fermented). I've got a Beer & Cheese pairing at Mash Rockingham tomorrow night with Little Cheese Shop and on Friday launching a new Mash beer (Cold Brew Coffee is The New IPA) at The Daily Espresso bar in Swanbourne. BA's are most welcome to join me at the launch - but spots are limited so if you're keen RSVP by phone or text to Scott at Mash on 0422972382 Who's going to Freo Beer Fest on Sunday? I'll be presenting "Brewing Sour Beer at Home" at 2pm and sitting on a sour beer Q&A panel at 5pm. Hit me up for a beer and a chat!
