Has anyone tasted the new anniversary brew from Ithaca yet? I'm looking for an extra to toss in a trade box tonight and I'm wondering if I should send this on the blind.

    Beer!

Well, I grabbed one and cracked it tonight. I think it's pretty special, actually. Tastes like something Prairie would do with an IPA. Now I want more info on the current brewer(s) at Ithaca. I heard a rumor that it was the dude who had brewed Legacy at Saranac, but who knows?

If the new guy's any good, he'll probably be out the door in a few months...

Slide off topic/side question- I saw Ithaca has a new beer- Java Power- looks like Flower Power with coffee added. Anybody here try it? Sounds like it could be something tasty.

I had 17 and Java Power a couple weeks ago. Really liked 17 - my favorite Ithaca anniversary beer since 13 by a pretty good margin. Price send to have improved as well ($9 for a 750). I didn't buy many bottles the last couple years, but remembered the anniversary beers being $13 or $14 in the past.

Java Power was just fine. Not a stand out for me, but another decent beer in the taproom series. *Insert comment about how far Flower Power has fallen etc etc*

It is not very noticeable, had this on draft and cask at the Anniversary and it is best consumed fresh. Solid offering, but not amazing.
