Ithaca Beer Co. Bad Habit

    A the brewery on Fathers day. Still plenty of two year old Excelsior series Bad Habit left at the brewery. $90 a case-$13 a 750 ml bottle. Available for growler fill......

    Damn. Syracuse maybe? Can pick it up on the way in. Have to get at least 3 cases of Flower Power to bring back to the thirsty masses down here...

    Syracuse has a couple of great bottle shops Bryne Dairy.. and the Coop my suggestion is to call. You never know. I just found Plum Noir here in Roch. and hadnt seen any Bad Habit.. Flower Power should be easy tho

    Pretty sure the only place you'll find Old Habit for sale is at the brewery.

    Finger Lakes Beverage has a few bottles, and so did Ithaca Coffee Company when I was there a couple weeks ago.

    My bad. Old Habit is my " bad habit". Initially limited release two years ago .Current Old Habit ( available at the brewery ) release has been lagered for over two years at the brewery. Ithaca Beer Co. ( think fresh Flower Power) isn't that far off the path on your way to Watertown/Ft Drum Cracker. Rt 79 to Ithaca from Rt 81 and Rt 13 back to rt 81. Also catch Hopshire Brewing and Cortland Beer Co. from Ithaca back to Rt 81 in Cortland.

    Hey Kiwi... are you positive about the two years of conditioning for Old Habit? That would mean that Chief brewed this... and it would explain how amazing it is.

    This will actually be the third batch of Old Habit.

    First one came out in 2007 (E!007 ? #'d bottles)....phenomenal beer. The barrel influence on this one was solid.

    Second batch came out in 2009 (E!017)...total mess of a beer. Suffered from severe gushing. Possible infection. Not a particularly outstanding batch (the reviews paint a fairly accurate picture).

    New batch: E!045, for those keeping count.

    Sounds great - I will have to hit this on the way back. Hoping to have room in the van, might have to strap a child to the roof....

    Cold One, Only know what the cashier told me. He said this batch spent 1 1/2 years in the old brewery and 6 months in the new brewery before the release. Thanks all for the batch counts guys. I'd sure like to think Chief brewed this latest batch.....kind of a memento to savor later
