I thought that Brute typically was released at the end of July so I figured I'd see if anyone had heard anything about this year's batch. Not even sure if they're doing it with the change in brewmasters.
No Brute this year....the latest rumor was that it was put on hold because of the move to the new brewing facility. This is on top of the previous rumors that it was gone for good...unfortunately, there is no straight answers from Ithaca regarding it either. I hate to say it but they seemed to still be in disarray since Chiefs departure 9 months ago.
i talked to an ithaca rep in philly last month and it sounded like brute's return is still in question. lebleu though, is already in the barrels apparently.
If it is released, I hope the brewery has their shit together and doesn't run the show like a bunch of amateurs...again.
But LeBlue was run flawlessly...I dont understand your post. LOL. (also sat outside for three hours yanking my crank).
Wait, do you mean you weren't relived when they said they were out of Le Blue but had 'plenty of 14 left'? LOL.
Haha, for those of us at the front of the line it was run flawlessly For those of you who, like me, live much closer to Peekskill Brewery than Ithaca, another post in this forum has info that Chief has gotten his coolship delivered to Peekskill's new location. So personally I don't care if Brute or LeBleu ever is released again, I can salve my disappointment (while saving gas $$$) with the much more local good stuff Chief undoubtedly will brew.
According to this site, the coolship isn't planned to be used to brew sours. http://bigriveradvertising.com/blog...ewery-to-expand-with-new-15-barrel-brewhouse/ Ithaca is expanding a lot to get to 100k barrel production, I hope they will distribute their sours next year.
For those of us who live much, much closer to Ithaca than Peekskill we are sad about Chief's departure.
Well, according to a post on this forum reporting of a conversation at Peekskill with Chief, "They both took a few minutes to talk beer and the new location. The place is gonna rock - 4 floors and 2 sours on draught.", so I guess we will see who is right. I of course will be there soon and will do my best to find out myself. Regardless, the beer being made at Peekskill is just fantastic, and I am happy to have Chief nearby brewing it.
Thanks for rubbing our noses in it Cavedave LOL. I saw the thread about the coolship and was also excited
Damn. Disappointed to hear that Brute may be done with...and I live much closer to Ithaca than Peekskill.
As soon as I heard that there was not going to be any Brute this year, I pretty mch locked down the rest of mine from trades. I am a hoarding bastard like that.
And Brute is pretty much the only thing I'm letting one of my last bottles of LeBleu go for at this point.
We were told there was already a batch in barrels at the release, likely one of the last things chief did before leaving. Here's hoping for a Dec. 31 release once again.
