Anyone tried this one yet? Sounds like a pretty interesting beer. NYC seems to be getting kegs lately--no bottles listed on beermenus so far.

That is one interesting looking beer. It looks like a black and tan made!

How can one beer look like that?

Yes, I enjoyed it a lot. However it is heavy on the coffee taste.

Still on tap at TJ's in Paoli I believe.

The real winner of these variants was Flower Power Dry Hopped with Citra & Orange Peel. If you come across, that is a must try.

I tried it at the tap room a few weeks ago and really liked it. Can't say it looked like that photo above... it was one dark color all the way through.

I agree with @grimey68 that it's pretty heavy on the coffee, but since it's coming from our wonderful local roaster Gimme! Coffee, I ain't got no problem with that.

Sounds like the best of both worlds--coffee and IPA.

I thought the bitter and the bitter would cancel each other out. But like I said, that's some high quality coffee in there.

I really liked Java Power. I picked up a crowler of it locally after having a pint. That picture is completely misleading though, as it looks nothing like that. That looks like a pour of Flower Power and Super Stout if I had to guess. Which by the way, Super Stout is seriously delicious. Loved the coffee they used in it.

I think what they wanted to get across is that it's a magical combo of a coffee beer and an IPA. But people clearly associate that image with a black and tan, so it didn't quite translate.

Spent the past weekend in Brooklyn and Java Power was one of the most enjoyable pints I had over the 3 days. I was quite surprised by the excellent balance and complexity. Well done Ithaca!

Well, I enjoyed Dayman Coffee IPA; not sure if this is anything like it or not, but I'm intrigued

Is this going to be six packs or just part of the Box of Hops?

Damn, Flower Power is one of my favorite "go to" IPAs, this should be really interesting!

It's surprisingly good. I ordered it by accident and the combination works somehow.

I had this on draft back in March at Fools Gold and really enjoyed it. Glad to see it's being bottled.

It used to be one of mine too, but I don't drink it anymore because of all the recipe changes and inconsistencies in the flavor. Shame too, I loved that beer of 3 years ago. So, if it's a go to for you, have you noticed changes over the years?

Sorry if this is a bit off topic.

RE: Java Power. I'd try it, but it doesn't really sound appealing to me.....coffee and IPA?

Yeah, this sounds weird but I really liked it every time I've tried it. The secret may be in the coffee, which is from an amazing local roaster.

Full disclosure: I'm an Ithacan but not an Ithaca Beer homer by any stretch

EDIT: LOL... I see that I pretty much wrote what I'd said a few months ago. Oh well.

And @butters_mcgee, I think it's just for the box of hops. Though I'm sure it will be on tap at the brewery.

I passed on the box of hops last year, but am pretty excited to try it this year. The "Pacific Gravity, a citrus double IPA" has me intrigued.
I had the Java Power and Super Stout months ago at the Westie and enjoyed both. I love me some coffee.

Yeah, this is the first year I'm going to buy it. All those sound good, and if the Creeker has remained the same then it's a big winner.

Question about the Westy: Do you think those funny glasses are full pints? I've never had the balls to bring in a pint class and test it, but I've always wondered.

I've only been to the Westy a couple of time, and one of which was just to try the Java Power and Super Stout. I think the Java Power was in a regular pint, but I think the Super Stout was in a smaller glass. I don't recall for sure. Maybe it would be easier to take off with one of their glasses than to bring in a pint to compare it with.

Just bring a 16oz bottle of water and pour into a glass after you drink your beer. Dept of weights and measures will be interested. I questioned a 12 oz pour once after seeing the tulip next to a 12 oz can. I have not been back.

    Enjoy
