Back in the early 80s before I had tasted craft beers because they were nonexistent where I lived, I had fond memories of the beers my dad gave me in Germany as a youngster. Since the beers all tasted like shit where I lived I just bought good tequila when i was in high school and brought it to all the weekend parties. I now look back and realize i was a beer snob before I knew what it even meant

Being knowledgeable about beer does not make one a snob, being arrogant and acting like your beer is so much better than everyone else's is being a snob even if it's true, it's still snobbish. But then again, I really don't have any problem with giving my opinion of bud, miller, coors to the average beer drinker. See, I called them "average beer drinkers". That's not meant to be snobbish, it's just true.

You're pretty early on in your infancy. It will only get worse. Good luck!

I've tried to refrain from being a snob & instead, an advocate. Turning friends to approachable craft options and seeing their surprised face when they actually enjoy it makes this hobby even more fun.

This makes me feel better I didn't go out of my way to try it on tap in Montpellier this past May......although my trip was work related I was able to sneak a visit to Hill Farmstead in!

Nope, a true snob does not visit said bar that serves Budweiser.

You're only a snob if you're a dick to people who like Budweiser.

I kind of agree but I've met plenty of Bud drinkers that have ridiculed me for drinking craft. I guess the sword slices both ways.

I knew I was a beer snob when I started making jokes about keystone light and my friends didn't think it was funny

I am not a beer snob, I just like beer, and love good beer. The better it is, the more I love it!

I've met the same type of people that call craft beer "moose piss." I just smile and laugh

Agreed. The snobs are those who ask me all the time "why do you drink THAT" as they plunk down the 3$ for miller light. I dont care what anyone drinks therefore I consider myself a beer geek not a snob.

I still drink some Miller Lite, sometimes I just want an ice cold beer and this is perfect to slap into the freezer for 10 minutes after work and suck it down. It's going to be 96 today, and the humidity has beer insufferable lately, cold beer is good beer I'm fine with guys drinking what they like, it's already hard enough to get certain brews. Agree snobbery is being an ass, liking good beer is what it is, just don't preach at guys who think TGIF is Corona time.

Just yesterday I advocated for craft beer and turned on a new craft drinker. Don't judge, convert.

I usually buy 4-6pks with the thought that I'll be sharing my beer. Nothing like sharing a great beer with friends!

I agree with all the sentiment of what a true snob is. Although under the definitions described above, I'm probably just a pizza slob.
