For tbbw I was able to try all of the bottles from The vip tickets from the festival.... I have to say that I do not think the quality is there anymore, most were poor to mediocre with only one sticking out as good to me...

Maria needs to make more stouts.

5 am got you first in line. Which was pretty much the old days of Wakefield

 

I want that miami rainbows so bad. For anyone that doesn't know, phase three brewing is the brewery that the former More brewer just opened. I'm assuming that will be on par with henna.

 

Unfortunately I'm sure secondary flippers are assuming the same

DFPF is sold out, stouts are still available. Not really feeling DFPF this year (too much fruit?), but this grape stush is pretty damn good. Brush was also phenomenal, but a little bit goes a long way with that one.

 

I was at J. Wakefield last Thursday and had Miami Rainbows on tap. Interesting to see how the strawberry flavor was integrated though the vanilla didn't make much of an impression. I was never a big fan of Neapolitan ice cream as a kid and I wasn't wowed by this stout.

 

Only two bottles have sold out

 

they did add more fruit this year which has to be what made it less sour, and that's a shame. idk why they had to edit the recipe. for that call it another name. that said it's not a bad beer, it's just different.

 

Give it a few months....will get more acidic

 

Hey there! Does J. Wakefield post upcoming releases anywhere? I'll be in town from Iowa next week, with a decent amount of free time, wanted to see if there was a chance of catching a release. (also interested in other breweries, but JW is closest to where I'm staying) Thanks in advance!

 

They have their current to-go offerings listed on Untappd. Most releases are announced via instagram.

 

I'm visiting Miami for a friends wedding at the end of the month and would like to visit the taproom. I don't have any knowledge of their beers other than looking at ratings. Anything I should try? I like stouts, IPAs, and some sours but am willing to try anything if it is highly recommended.

Ratings are basically recommendations soooo.... They're stuff changes frequently enough that there's no way to say what they'll have. Stick with whatever style you like (the one's you list are represented pretty well) and ask the bartender. Otherwise check their website a day or two before you go to have an idea of what they'll have.
