Can someone learn me on Bake Kujira? When was the first one released? Are they annual? Member only? How much they cost? Where do they typically trade at? I'm kind of assuming Bakes are what Derivation is to Side Project? Any info appreciated.
I believe wakefest 2 was first bake. Black and white label Next year they did other colors (they escape me) edit - I think Coral and gun metal This past year they had a blue and gold Released during wakefest only. Via raffle and some other ways it seems
Raffles, cellar sales, “given” to “friends” of the brewery. So OP, no official release, but Bake is a once a year thing around Wakefest Bake Kujira is essentially a super fancy version of the barrel aged big poppa beers (it was all a dream, I let my tape rock, etc). They use ultra premium ingredients like Kopi Luwak coffee. There are usually 2 versions each year, one is a special barrel and one is a blend of all of the BA big poppas. For example: Bake Kujira Classic Blue (2020) - “A Special Blend of Barrel Aged “Big Poppa” variants. Imperial Stout with Coconut, Mostra Kopi Luwak Coffee and Peruvian Vanilla.” Bake Kujira 24K Gold (2020) - “Maple Syrup Apple Brandy Barrel Aged “Big Poppa”. Imperial Stout with Coconut, Mostra Kopi Luwak Coffee and Peruvian Vanilla.” value wise they’re in the range of derivations. Classic blue is ~800, 24K is 1000+
There is someone on BA that typically has them FT. Worked out a trade with him once that was basically a 12 shipper of limited Hill for Bake coral + DL variant.
I believe 12 of each variant is raffled per Wakefest. Plus like said above given to friends and families of the brewery. I've also seen magnums poured at various festivals.
