Adam I appreciate the help man, yes all bottles will be held till the end of the first membership period if need be.

A note on the $300 membership as well - I've paid $300 for Crooked Stave/Bruery and still ended up paying extra for their special release bottles that weren't included. No shirts or parties or events or things of the like which I think would've made me feel more a part of something special.

    Trustees: yes or no?
    1 Crowd-sourced beer?
    # of bottles of each release available for purchase?
What will you do with "extra" bottles?

....insta trigger pull for me would be a switch to work shirts instead of tshirts.

Welp, allow me to be first to offer this, but if anyone from parts unknown needs a trustee, holler at me. I have references.

Very excited for JW to get up and running, but probably going to sit this one out. Hats/glasses/parties/shirts don't really do it for me - would rather have more beer. Just a personal preference! Curious if this will be the only way to get into the membership society.

I'd really like to know where in Miami this place is going to be. Deep Miami?
There's very few things in life I abhor more than driving in downtown Miami.

I would imagine that if funding is unsuccessful, then there is no membership society...

This precisely. I really want to support JWB though, so I'm torn. I would feel so much better about dropping $300 for the promise of 12 bottles, but I get that this is a fundraiser and we're not buying bottles.

pretty much this. As an out-of-towner (hell, out-of-stater), I can get more excited about the beer than anything else.

I decided to buy the $300 option. I was on the fence but here are the things that convinced me.

-His reputation is great (mutiple awards).
-The above quote makes me feel that he is serious about starting the brewery, working hard, and doing a good job.
-I am near Miami every once in awhile (but not often) and his being reasonable about holding bottles seems genuine.
-His humility seems to contradict what people are saying about some questionable character concerns over his 'head getting too big' for the common fan (never forget your fans)!
-I was struggling at 6 bottles but the high likelihood for more put me over.

Anyway, starting a brewery is incredibly hard so a huge amount of good luck to JW Brewing and godspeed!

If anyone could help a couple of CA boys out with this, it'd be greatly appreciated. We just posted this to the ISO/FT forum:

My buddy and I are looking for someone in or near So. FL who would be willing to proxy for us and pick up our society membership bottles. In return we will send regular boxes of nice west coast beers. I travel to SARA fairly often, so I could certainly return the favor with beers from there, or other areas out here in the west coast.

Done. Congrats on getting this going Wakefield! I look forward to some phenomenal beers and another great brewery in the sunshine state. FL is really coming along!

I don't have the funds to put down $300 right now, but I'm willing to be a trustee for anyone in other parts of the country. Let me know.
