Maybe he can take some of that saltiness and brew a Gose. One with caps that don't leak.

Luckily I already have one. But I might have to purchase a second one if enough good things are on tap/available for fills.

While I think he (or whoever is handling social media for JWB) might be justified in being flippant because people (many of whom aren't even OGs) are piling on and trolling on social media...I just don't think that is a great way to respond to the fact that some of your best supporters are having a bad experience. 20 bottles out of 800 is 2.5% which seems like a bit high of a failure rate for something as well refined and simple are bottling and capping. If you had that level of failure rate with something like a Hunahpu release you'd be looking at hundreds of disgruntled customers. Probably the bigger issue isn't that bottles are leaking as much as the lack of communication up to this point. Funky Buddha had a much bigger snafu with the BA Muy Bonita infection, but they handled it better by getting out in front of the social media rabble and owning up to the issue and offering a plan. They still haven't replaced those bottles yet (over 6 months later) yet are facing less criticism and backlash than Wakefield (even though their issue affects significantly fewer people).

Communication is key and solves most problems.

Yeah I am not an OG or anything, but just making an observation that a little better communication would probably save them a lot of grief. It's a very forgiving community on here, just gotta let everyone know what's going on. Hopefully JWB can work on it and fix it, I look forward to trying their beers in the future!

This is what I don't understand. I'm not an OG member, and don't want to beat a dead horse, but if they can update social media as often as they do, how hard is it to draft a boilerplate email and blast it to the OG members on a weekly/bi-weekly basis? I know they're brewers first, but this is customer service 101.

Exactly...this is why they should pay me in fruited berliners to handle their communication and social media for them. I promise to respond to any and all emails or FB messages sent in

Despite me being an alleged JWB apologist (presumably due to geographical location/proximity to the brewery), I still sympathize with what you are going through. Do I wish all OGs were happy and at the same time see a local brewery succeed? Of course I do. I'd venture to guess that it would be no different than what you'd wish on your local breweries in a similar position. But to assume that because we are from FL, we haven't been equally as harsh and objective as you "out-of-towners" simply pisses me off. Not to mention your wording has an air of condescension to it. I get that you are pissed off, and hope that things get rectified and you can move on. But stop with the generalizations. It's just lazy and inaccurate

They are a VERY small operation, with a handful (literally) of employees running the entire show. I'd throw this idea out there and see what happens, you never know...

Personally I'd love JWB to emulate De Garde, offering reasonably priced berliners to the public in bottles. We have zero local sours we can get in bottles if you are talking about South Florida. I don't think he has the capacity for that though, but I really have no idea, it's just a hope of mine that one day I can stop in the brewery and pick up a few bottled berliners and 10 bucks a pop. I'm pretty pessimistic about that though.

We can get the occasional CCB sour, but the last few lacto grove releases have been brewery only. That blackberry lacto was solid as fuck though. Green Bench nailed it with Silent Captain too, but again, north Florida only.

Wakefield is really our only hope at locally bottled sours unless Barrel of Monks comes out with some. They just tapped a sour ale this week. Maybe Funky Buddha will bottle a berliner one day? But it would be out of oakland, haven't had a berliner from there yet that's lived up to the lounge's. I go to the lounge a lot more though so maybe I missed a really good one in oakland.

Honestly, the best local sours/wild ales have been from Wild Oak and they aren't an official brewery yet. They also just split up so...the future is grim.

I was dreaming of one day having our own Rare Barrel / Crooked Stave / De Garde / SARA / etc.. you get the picture. I might just have to move.

Quit playin with my emotions. I'd do the 7 hr drive from Orlando regularly for access to beer like this.

Fundamental problem with $10 berliners is the fact that his location means he can charge double and it wouldn't ruffle feathers.

I had the same dream about regular beer in Central FL. You guys at least have a few solid breweries that offer excellent beer in Crowler / Growlers (and a gas station!) I have to drive at least an hour and a half for beer worth sending to trade partners in other states. 'One day..'

Yeah, Matt made a facebook post and said Wild Oak is no more, but he's not giving up on brewing. So hopefully we see him come back under another name.

In the meantime he's still at Brewzii, and his wild ale there is still awesome, but damn some of his bottles were...just awesome. There was a wild stout he did that was better than Bootsy, we had them both the same night.

Yeah Miami sucks for pricing. And we don't get any sours in crowlers/growlers at all except for JWB Stush, and it's OK but nothing to write home about. If only the lounge filled growlers...I get it though, they just can't make enough beer to keep up with a growler demand.

And what gas station are you talking about? Kwik Stop?

Is there anywhere online that has a current taplist? The website only lists Stush. Im gonna make the 4 hour drive one weekend and hit JWB, FB, Wynwood, etc, but would like to know whats available on tap and in growlers before I go.

Pretty much everything good taps on Saturdays. Growlers are only flagship beers unless its Thursday. They do a limited run of something special. Usually only about 20 fills worth though.

The lineup with the exception of flagships is always changing. Your best bet would be to check their FB page since they're always posting on there

Like cyrus said, If you want the hottness in a growler gotta go on thursday.
Facebook is the best way to see what it is, they skipped a thursday once. And get there early, again like cyrus said about 20 fills.

Hit up Saltwater too, Morgan who used to brew at the Buddha Lounge is there now, and he's one of the coolest bartenders around on top of that.

Stush is great too, but if you can get good low abv berliners already you won't be missing much. I mean, you close to 7venth Sun? They are pretty much on the same level as wakefield, I got to try their tentacle sours and whatever BA stout they had on tap a month ago.

Wakefield makes some killer stouts too that live in the shadow of his hyped berliners.

If you go to the Buddha, go to the lounge on a thursday in Boca, they do special releases every thursday. If you wait until June 25th the lounge is doing a sour fest, last time they had 7 berliners on I think. My stomach...just...zantac dude, zantac.
