This is more side project hype.

Brad and Art have always put a deliberate efffort to reward those who attend their events and releases. They spread the beer as thin as possible to accommodate everyone in line for their calendar page releases. They genuinely care about their customers and everyone's experience.

To say the limits were a mistake is an insult to a team who has helped build the foundation of Ohio's craft beer culture. This wasn't their first rodeo. They knew what they were doing and, quite frankly, they deserve to sell their beer however they want to. If they want it gone in a day, more power to them. If they want it to last for a half of a year at 1-pp, great. That's their decision. All we should ask for is that we get the right info to make a decision for ourselves on if the release is worth attending.

The bottom line is that every single person who made the trip and arrived at either location by the opening time got beer. How many releases can you say that about? They gave everyone ample notice and, quite frankly, they let you decide how to prioritize this release vs your other obligations. This wasn't a Fred Karm hoodwink, no one was given false info or turned away in the name of max profits. The beer was available as advertised and I guarantee you they would have dropped limits if there were more people there at opening than there was beer.

Entitlement is thrown around on this site a lot, but if you didn't put in the effort today and expected the beer to last, you took a risk. If you're bitching that the risk didn't pay off and you missed out, that's entitlement.

Can't win them all, but this was an easy victory if you put in the effort today's craft beer releases warrant.

I will assume that you are referring to me with the "mistake" inclusion. That's fine. Just your opinion, as was my comment. I in no way am trying to insult Art, Brad, or anyone in their company. Their customer service is top notch from the Brew Pub/Public House, to the taproom, to Twitter, to the tents at festivals, to @beace interacting with us losers on Ba. Several breweries around our state, who I won't mention in this thread, could learn a lot from them.

I just felt like upping the typical 6 bottle limit(s) doesn't jive with what they have always done, "spread the beer as thin as possible to accommodate everyone...". And with the way the secondary market for reselling beer is right now I think it brings more of those d bags out. Maybe I'm wrong.

I really hope that I did/do not come across as entitled in any way. The only thing I feel I am entitled too is my wife chewing on my ass for the amount of money I spend on beer. I couldn't get there till almost 2 because I decided not to cancel my 11:00 am Drs appt to go down earlier (damn I am getting old). Sure I was bummed to see it gone about 3 or 4 hours than I would have guessed, but I am not bitching about it to anyone. Like you said, can't win them all. Besides, I have this in my hand right now:slight_smile:

I can't believe how much the walnut has started to take back control fom the barrel. Outstanding. Cheers to everyone! Especially the ones enjoying what I'm sure is another world class Jackie O's stout.

I talked to a few people in line, and there were definitely a few who got two allotments from both locations. I think this was probably pretty rare and far between, but it definitely happened.

I don't hold any ill will against those who got high amounts. It was my own fault; I should've taken the whole day off instead of a half-day.

Yeah I don't think it was announced. Folks at JOs know way better than to promise something like that. Just because a few goobers act like they know the brewer doesn't mean their word on here is gospel. Someone's just coping with their loss today.

I never took you as "entitled".

I wonder if Side Project had any hand in the limits being what they were or if that was all on Brad/Art. Either way, happy they had a successful release, yet again. Maybe I'll make it to another release in the future.

Yeah, same beer without side project/derivation name and we wouldn't be having any issue with bottles still available right now.
