Sorry for stirring the pot boys. I've been having a rough couple days and those idiots just set me over the edge.

Really looking forward to tomorrow. First order of business Spirit Beast '16.

 

The line for the anniversary beers is already about as long as it was at 11 am last year. Appervation effect putting more hype in to the release?

 

Weird, especially with the weather. Is it still growing though? Any indication of what people are buzzing about the most? Guessing (hoping) the stouts, with those large groups coming together.

 

It's gotta be the brewpub beers with the 1 and 2 bottle limits. Gotta get those for trade value bro!

 

Vanilla appervation sold out more than 20 minutes before open. Makes sense

 

Yeah, my buddy just text me this... He was planning on getting there at 11. WTF?

 

I'm immediately reminded of the posts leading up to and following Appervation being released. I seem to recall people being shocked that it sold out that fast (and that people would buy whole allotments at $200/allotment. I wasn't sure why, especially when people on the JO Facebook post were talking about selling PRE-bottles at $100/each.

This may not be a bottle sale, but not too shocked to hear the keg kicked quick. It's never been released before, and as far as I know it's the #1 rated beer JO has released.

 

Oh I'm not surprised it kicked quick, just more surprised that it kicked before "open".

 

That'd definitely surprise me--the sours never seem to have that large of a draw, which usually works to my advantage. Plus only one of those two is fruited, and it's strawberry, which isn't as popular.

Although I don't think they ever released Vanilla Appervation until today, they obviously only conditioned enough to serve the very, very early crowd. But regular Appervation has been on tap plenty, and wasn't hard to get a glass of in Athens, particularly during a release of any kind. Seems like they could have made more of the vanilla, but stands to reason everyone would be gunning for it anyway, and I guess risking that much Appervation to a first time one-off draft probably didn't sound too appealing.

 

Let’s all pray for a silent keg of vanilla appervation at the upland sour release this year and it will last all day with no line.

That is very strange. Maybe it didn't turn out well? Keg clogged? Luckily I knew I wouldn't get any anyways.

 

People started lining up at 7am is what I've heard. So, I'd assume it's due to that, but I wasn't there so no idea.

 

Do they serve beer in line though? I figured no beer until 11 am when they opened.

Gotcha, I had assumed the beers didn't start serving until 11 am. Like I mentioned that beer group planned on killing the keg.

 

Someone in line mentioned the 7am group was the Cincy group - but that's just hearsay (admittedly by the person that told it to me).

 

There were multiple people who stayed in Athens last night from that group, so logic makes sense.

 

What time are bottles sales ending today. Not getting down there until after 6
