    Ugh.

I only ever cared (and still bring it up in this case to be a shit) because the behavior y’all expressed in that thread last year, and by getting a second wristband, is what BA isn’t supposed to be about. Fuck people that double dip on allocations like that. Greedy behavior.

(I was never there, so it has nothing to do with that.)

Not that this is really any of my business but his wife likes beer...what is the problem with her getting her own allotment? Can’t she also be there as a customer? The Floodland brewer has a policy against couples getting double allotments and he gets crushed for being sexist. Rightfully so. And trust me I’m the farthest thing from someone who is sensitive to noticing sexism.

I have 0 problems with people getting an allotment per person. If my wife drank more beer, and a beer was very limited, I’d love to have two so that we could both fully enjoy a full beer.

Him and his wife both got an allotment. His wife Concealed her wristband on one wrist and ended up with a second wristband (on the other). That’s my beef.

There's a lot more to it, but I'd imagine your position on it likely wouldn't change. But yeah she stood in line all night at Binny's and when there were still tickets available after open, she went back and got another ticket. Plenty of people got extra tickets after they physically picked up their first allotment, which the masses deemed fine, but since she got her second ticket before physically picking up her first allotment, that was deemed not fine.

Either way, she does what she wants when it comes to beer, including being (like myself) incredibly generous with the stuff she buys/trades, so it's basically been zfg as far as the backlash online went.

Ugh. Against my better judgment, I'm going to chime in here. @Gibspeed you seem like a decent guy around here. I hold no ill will. Looking back, at least you tried to discourage her from doing it. I waited in line all night too. Looks like almost 2 hours longer than you. So did my friend, along with several other BAs I know. None of us did that. We either went about our morning, or like me, hit another location and grabbed a few more of whatever was available - which I see you also did after double dipping. Binny's LP clearly worked hard to fix the cluster fuck that was 2017. I waited in line with my buddy that day too and we got screwed because a lot of people can't follow rules and adult. So it stings a bit when I see people gaming the system after they tried to minimize it last year. Regardless, thanks for reminding me because I plan to email them and ask if they'd either X the shit out of people's hands or check for an existing wristband to hopefully close this loophole

I actually think it's cool that you married someone that is so into BA beer that she'd drive from OH, and stand in line all night on a Chicago November night while pregnant. Pretty bad ass if you ask me. I bet if I arm wrestle her she'd kick my ass.

Oh hey, how about that Apple Brandy Brick Kiln? That stuff was pretty great.

Oh, it reads just as funny today as it did a year ago. See for yourself. Starts about page 58 or 59 and goes through about 73-74. This situation aside, comedic gold. You get the whole arc of the night/day and the next few days. There are some funny ass people on here.

Very solid read. Started very slow but picked up quickly. By far, the highlight was the Seinfeld reference

Like I said, you get the whole arc. And yeah, that one's a gem. I was partial to the Sephora limited release and Madagascara sub-topic.

If you think that was good, you should read 2017. It is a train wreck from start to finish (thanksgiving day through late Black Friday) due to the clusterfuck tent city that was binney’s LP that year. It is by far one of the most entertaining reads on BA - Along with the original 3 Chiefs thread (and from what i have heard, the current one).

All fair points, including the AB Brick Kiln which was awesome, like the rest of the Bwizzle bottles.

We'll be back this year and happy to share a line beer with your guys if you're there too.

There are some classic Black Friday threads going back years on this site. I can’t remember if I’ve read 2017 or not. I miss the days of good drama on this site.

Haven't decided if I'm taking the plunge this year with scoring Prop Day. Wait until they announce that DB will only be at LP or some garbage like that. But if I do, we only share the finest of infected Big Bad Baptist vintages predawn.

BB Oro, You're in the Jungle Baby Coffee, Poly V, Dark App Reserve, BB Coffee Black Maple, and Anything and Everything were all extraordinary beers in the last year, IMO.

Also had a Coconut and Cinnamon BB Dark App on tap that was awesome..

Saw a JO's BA maple at a Binny's the other day but no one I know had tried it, so I passed. May have to go back and grab it. Would you suggest grabbing it? Can't remember the name of it.

It's better than almost any BA Maple Stout I'd imagine you'd find sitting on a shelf. Like most Jackie O's offerings, it's not brownie batter so if that bothers you then maybe pass.

    To add to this:

I would ask yourself if you like nuanced “adjuncts” or “in your face” adjuncts. Don’t confuse this with pastry - there’s an inflection point where you go from “yes, anyone can taste this” to “That’s overloaded.”

JO adjuncts are (per brad) meant to be nuanced. Black Maple has been discussed in the past, because for some (such as myself) it was so nuanced that I almost did not know it was there, whereas others (was it @Sabtos ? Cannot recall) got an overwhelming amount of maple.

Palates vary, but if you know yours well you should be able to determine if you’ll like it. (It’s well done, but I won’t buy it since it’s virtually like drinking a non-maple BA stout for my palate.) Different Strokes.

Thanks. Maybe I'll grab it. I don't need "pastry" stouts. I like tasting the beer and barrel. Most my favorite beers are base stouts like Tar and regular BCBS.
