I think this year’s batch is excellent.

I agree that it is most excellent, but that dark app reserve that was released at the same time overshadowed it for me. So good, thanks Jackie os.

The dark app reserve is really quite special, just like the ACV dark app reserve.

Yest we not forget granola black maple, that's my favorite JO's this year. I wasn't trying to say Appervation wasn't good this year but, to me, was my least favorite of the 3 batches. Guess I'll crack another this weekend and see how it's doing. All this JO chatter has me pinning to go down and pick up my bottles. Too bad they just closed the patio, I clearly waited too long. This sucks (for everyone).

Myself and a few friends did all three batches blind a few weeks ago and the most recent batch was pretty much unanimously #1.

Just saw a new limited release hazy IPA called Under A Cloud in Dayton. No hop variety listed on the can or JO website.

me and my wife visited this brew pub last year. friendly people , large (20 +) of their own craft beers , tryed about 10 of them, their chalmond joy was a top beer. food was great - good selection of food. just started to get their beers in the chicago area . the town was a nice old town

I'm extremely curious about the pilsner in cans currently available at the taproom (Light Out Late). Hoping that either hits wide distro or at least becomes available at the same time as Black Is Beautiful for shipping on Monday. The spiced BA Dark App in crowlers in Athens sounds pretty great as well.

Heading to Dayton for a few days, any idea where to pick up some JOs? We get some distro in Cali, but wouldn’t mind stocking the fridge while I’m there... Other Dayton beer and food recs appreciated!

Last time I was in Dayton - Ollie's Place was THE place to go for all things Dayton has to offer regarding craft beer and they definitely had a solid Jackie O's offering. In terms of breweries - Warped Wing & Dayton Beer Co are both worth checking out.

In a way, you kind of beat me to posting within this thread.

Ohio Advocates - I'll actually be in Athens, Ohio in about a week and I'm definitely checking out Jackie O's. Online, it appears they have three locations (one of which may be closed for the time being).

I am wondering what their best location is for to-go bottle sales? Thanks in advance for any up-to-date advice you can offer! CHEERS!

The taproom is the best location for to-go bottles. The taproom’s patio is currently open for draft pours (no food, though I think they’ll let you bring food in) with various distancing measures in place, although that could change at any moment.

I think the best stores are both Arrow Wine locations and The Barrel House. The Arrow stores will be more likely to have the full selection of Jackie O's cans because they're bigger than The Barrel House, but you should be able to find a good selection of their bottles at all three. The Barrel House is also excellent at social media updates, so you can have a good idea of what's come in recently before you go. Belmont Party Supply has had a reputation as the best for years but the inventory was looking kind of depleted the last time I was there and the long-time owner just sold it recently. Olllie's Place mentioned above closed last year.

Brewery-wise, Branch and Bone and Yellow Springs are probably the two best in the area. Cans of the latter are widely available in stores in the area if you don't feel like taking the 20-30 minute drive there.

Damn. Really sorry to hear this place isn't around anymore.
