These statements couldn't be more true. I've been flying in from California to attend the releases when I can. On that note, can't wait to see you all again in August!

 

And don't forget the people! It's been my experience that Brad and his staff are some of the nicest kids around, not to mention that I have made some great friends at Jackie O's.

Birthdays aren't a big deal anymore, but this sounds like a perfect birthday present to myself. I almost pulled the trigger on the March release, but I've got to get down there sometime soon and a release sounds like a good enough reason.

 

They hand out tickets (well, calendar pages) at some point the night before the bottle sale. In the past, they have handed them out as quickly after the bar closes for the night (2 a.m.) as possible. However, for this last release in March they decided to hand out the pages as people arrived the night before the event, starting at 5 p.m. on Friday. Brad sat at the door handing out tickets for a good portion of the night, and then after he got tired of it they had them behind the bar. My guess is that the system will be similar from here on out, but that's purely conjecture on my part.

 

Can anyone with knowledge elaborate on styles of the potential offerings? I checked the Jackie O's website but I believe only Sweet Chocolate Love and Thorogood (with no description) were listed.

Loved the regular Skipping Stone quad on our last trip down there, cannot f'in wait to try some of the bb version!
Recommendations/thoughts for those thinking of attending a release...
JOs staff is amazing, which makes the releases run smooth and unlike other bigger breweries.
There are typically 35-40 different taps to try on release weekends and samples are only 2-3 bucks. Considering the high abv and extensive bottle sharing, your bar tab (not including bottle purchase,of course) is easily manageable.
Make a weekend of your trip. Athens is a great college town...lots of great food,and OU campus is great to walk around and enjoy during the day, especially in the summer.
