That page is rarely (if ever) updated. You'll see few if any of the beers from that listing, especially the BA and sour stuff. I have never bothered calling but supposedly if you call the brewery there is an automated draft list that is read to you. Otherwise just call and ask for a bartender. They typically have 7-12 different beers on at a given time. Likely a pale ale or two, an IPA/DIPA, amber, raz wheat, at least one porter or stout, and one or two of the more unusual beers that are being experimented with or getting ready for bottling. Check both the brewery side and the restaurant side (public house) as both tend to have at least a few different beers that the other does not. They also tend to have several nice guest beers on tap, and always have something from Aecht Schlenkerla too which is freaking awesome if you enjoy smoked beer. In short, you'll be pleased with some of the stuff but don't expect a ton of the highly praised offerings that typically get traded on the forums...
Looks like tickets will be handed out from behind the bar at 5pm Friday night ? http://jackieos.com/news/ That makes it a little rough on those of us who have to work for a living till 5pm , Guess I'll be asking for a half a day off to be able to make it on time.. I'm not missing this for the world.
...and for those of us who work for a living then have to drive 7 hours to get there... might need the whole day off.
That's the main reason I don't go to Jackie O's releases is they hand out tix way too early. I can't drive 6hrs to get a ticket at 5pm on a Friday. I'll stick to waiting all night in line at Founders
I DO see them running out of certain beers in the 2nd pass through. I am not a noob to JO's releases.
This is the first time they've handed them out before closing for the night. And all the releases for the past year you could have shown up aT the open and picked up most if not all the beers. Brad does a good job at setting the limits low enough for everyone to get their share. Showing up early just helps your chances for the second sale if you want extras/traders.
It's only a mortal sin if you change shirts and cut in line like a total douche comet or enlist an army of mules.
