Great job on this beer, and even better on keeping the price reasonable. It comes in a 16.9oz bottle, and I picked one up for 3.49. This brewery continues to impress with really interesting and unique lagers.

I thought they were 4 packs? Either way, that is a very nice price considering it is half of what Maine Beer Co. charges for the same volume.

I thought so too but they were selling singles at Craft Beer Cellar yesterday.

Works for me, but I'm just waiting for Liquor World to get some.

Fantastic. I can't wait. I enjoyed all 3 of these very much.

Looking forward to trying the Cascadian Schwarzbier as well.

Will you still be doing growler fills for your bottled beers?

We will always have growlers available at the brewery.

I just picked up two bottles, $3.65 each (though an error at the register had them charging me a $30 container deposit for each bottle, lol). If they can keep the prices reasonable like this I predict Jack's Abby will begin to really take off!

I wonder if anyone would think this is reasonably priced if they were selling them in $15+ six packs instead?

Meh. $15 is high, but what would you pay for a mix-a-six? Considering these are singles, you have to factor that in. If it's 20-25%, these are more like $12-ish 6pks, which is solidly in the ballpark of most seasonal/"premium" beers (Nugget Nectar, Flower Power, BCS, etc). Not cheap, but considering that it's got company at that price point, I'd say it's "reasonable."

I consider it a step in the right direction--smaller bottles (vs bombers), and a 6pk-equiv price that isn't enormously higher than most 6pks out there. And the promise of 4pks as the primary container size, rather than the more common bombers-now-6pks-in-the-distant-future.

The reality is that they are not sold in 6 packs for $15. Don't like the price don't buy the beer. Considering the prices for 22oz and similar 16.9oz craft beers, I thought $3.49 for 16.9oz ($.21 per oz) was a good deal.

No one said dirt cheap, or extremely low priced, I just thought it was a reasonable price for a quality beer. If you buy 6 of them at Julios they will give you a 15% discount, so now your talking - about $12.50 for a 6 pack of a black ipa - reasonable.

Yes, this was for singles (and I did get 10% off for buying six singles so now the price is equivalent to $14 for a 6-pack). They will be selling their "regular" beers in 4-packs of 16.9oz bottles, any idea on what the price of these will be? The volume of those will be only 4.4oz shy of a regular six pack.

People can't do math apparently. :0)

Seriously, I'm getting concerned that bomber prices are becoming the standard measuring stick for craft beer value instead of 6 packs in the mind of many craft beer fans....despite a ton of evidence (& math) which indicates bombers & other large formats are a horrible deal for the customer.

Next week. 2 cases. They are 24/500ml bottle cases. Not sure on price yet. New Clown Shoes stout will be along for the ride.

Enjoying my first taste of this beer now with lunch and liking it a lot. I picked it up yesterday in Western MA for $3.99 and am very happy from a cost/value perspective. Looking for more releases from Jack's Abby on my way back to Maine this afternoon.

I'm drinking one right now too and while its not a favorite style or one I'd drink often it's a very good beer.

Unfortunately I think bombers have become the measuring stick for new breweries. What was the last new brewery around here that started off in reasonably priced 6-packs? Mayflower four years ago? I guess there was Notch, but they had their own pricing concerns with $11 6-packs of 4% beers, and even they quickly moved to bombers it seems. Pretty much everyone else nowadays begins with the larger bottles. And at $3.50 for a 500ml bottle compared to $5 for Maine Beer Peeper in 500ml bottles, it's a pretty decent price for a new brewery given the landscape, even if it's a little high cost per ounce compared to established breweries.

Here's a question - why don't breweries ever start out with 12-packs? I'd much rather plunk down $15-$16 for a 12-pack from a new brewery rather than $10-$11 for a 6-pack. In fact, I kind of hate buying 6-packs in general when you get so much more value out of a 12-pack.

As for the beer at hand - sipping one now. Very nice - it's no Hopponius Union, but well done nonetheless.
