Is KIWI Rising worth a trip to the brewery tonight to get a growler? Been awhile since I have been and this may be the excuse I am looking for.

I'd just wait for it to hit distro. It will be everywhere. Unless, you're going in between rush hour I wouldn't touch that traffic.

Very true.... But if you're looking for a good excuse to go down there regardless of traffic that beer really is excellent. It looks like they still have all the BA Framinghammer bottles available according their site.

I just swung by a little after opening. No line, nice and easy. It was $16 for a 64oz growler and $5 for bottles. I grabbed a couple bottles and a growler of the BA Plum Berliner. But id agree with @RKing44 it's going to distro, so really no need to make the trip unless you wanted other stuff on hand.

If you're most interested in a growler, rather than bottles, then yeah definitely hit up the brewery. Especially because while you're there you can also order a super fresh glass of it in the tap room.

I am only a couple towns over, and I haven't been in over a year, I have an hour to kill so I may fight the traffic and head over, I could use a t shirt too. Would like to bring a growler to a buddies house tomorrow anyways.

If it's been over a year for you, I'm thinking you haven't seen the new taproom layout yet? Worth checking out. I treat it like a local bar (I live in Framingham)

I would rather have this beer as fresh as possible and I did. The bottle is about 4 hours old and is so damn juicy with a nice dry finish. What a great beer. Excellent batch.

Smart move. Maybe it's all in my head (it likely is), but draft beer is always tastier to me than bottled. Perception is reality and this is one psychological bias I don't feel like confronting.

I was at the Brewery on wed and was told they brewed 400 Barrels of Kiwi Rising, it will ship to their entire distro and MA will obviously get plenty. My math could be way off but that seems like thousands of cases even with kegging a good %

It should start hitting stores today, should be most places by the end of the week.

general question: "is [excellent, freshness based hoppy beer] worth driving down to the brewery to get as fresh as humanly possible, or should i just wait for distro?"

    answer: "yes"

What general area of MA is this available in stores? I live in RI and would be looking for the closest shop. Any help is appreciated!

It will eventually be all over. It hasn't hit there quite yet, but the closest bet for me at least is just over the border at Yankee Spirits Attleboro.
