I'm not sure why, but maybe they're down a web/social media person? I wish they'd put out more content like you describe... but they often don't even update what's available at the brewery (the on draft and to go offerings) unless someone here tags them and asks them to do it.

But hey -- they're running a super successful brewery and just opened another one, so they've earned the right to do it whatever way they want. I really liked two of the three Springdale beers I had recently (Good 'N' You and Clerical Error), so props to them.

If so, I'm available. Unqualified, but available.

Good 'N You is so goddamn good. Enjoying my last one from the original canning run right now. Looking forward to Amirite?! this weekend.

Just noticed that Springdale doesn't have its own page on here yet. Wouldn't it be best to create a new location and have a mod/admin port the beers over, rather than having them under the JA page?

Over the last year we have been making videos of some of our beers. We push them out on social media but they have been missing from their beer pages on our website, something we are in the process of fixing. While we did not make one for Saxony Lager this year, here are some of the ones that we have done:

    Copper Legend: https://mediaboss.wistia.com/medias/anhth2h91r

    Red Tape: https://mediaboss.wistia.com/medias/l8y5o1s6nc

    Kiwi Rising: https://mediaboss.wistia.com/medias/8zfoy6yoyt

    Sunny Ridge: https://mediaboss.wistia.com/medias/dii62x0v3p

    Excess IPL: https://mediaboss.wistia.com/medias/bcay5g6whb

If these are not the type of videos you would like to see or if there is certain information you would like in future videos, let us know.

A 1-2 paragraph written summary of the video content on the beer page would be nice. it's hard to watch a video in a store/bar/work/social situation/etc--I'm looking for information, not entertainment.

Does anyone know if Springdale is dog friendly? I'm pretty sure JA isn't, because of the kitchen, but thought maybe Springdale is separate enough to have different rules.

We're looking to head there after snowshoeing and it would be nice to not have to circle back and drop off the pup. Thanks!

Their website has a descriptive paragraph on each beer's page. I can't imagine wanting more info without getting into some obscure technical description or a lager history lesson.

Compare the Sunny Ridge blurb to the video info. Blurb:
    Video:
Also, I have a strong dislike for videos in general that are primarily just someone reading aloud to me. A written version of the same info is vastly superior:
    • It is faster to read than to listen to someone read
    • It can be skimmed
    • Sections can easily be reread
    • It can be indexed and searched
    • It can be copied and pasted
Videos are great for some things, but not all things. And things like technical info or lager history lessons are probably better as text than as videos too.

To summarize, I'd like to see more text info, and have it organized in a way that encourages organic discovery rather than having it sandboxed in a blog or a facebook page.

I just want their available beers page to be updated daily, and reflect accurate sizes and package types available, as well as upcoming beers. Most other breweries, even ones with even less personnel, have no problem doing this.

There is also the IBU/OG/ABV below the blurb (not in the video). A lot of people enjoy videos. Especially when people see the brewer which was an earlier comment. I guess, for me, the extra info in that video didn't come with any revelations about Sunny Ridge. Now I just know a couple fun facts that only people with a deeper knowledge of the brewing process would even understand. And I'll probably forget it in about 20 minutes haha

Sorry, we aren't able to allow dogs in the taproom. Happy shoe-ing!

They don't seem to even want to address this question, which is really frustrating. It doesn't seem like it would be that difficult. The last couple times we've had to ask them here to update it, it's been about a month out of date.

Hell, just take a picture of the board at the entrance every day and tweet or Facebook it out, and let people know that's where they can find the information. Takes literally three minutes using a cell phone. Problem solved.

The lack of an up-to-date beer list on their website is the primary reason I've stopped going there as often as I used to. They need to update the website daily (at the very least update the timestamp if offerings haven't changed) and tweet/instagram out a description of each new beer as they are added to the menu, enough to get a sense of grains/hops used and flavor profile. They used to do all these things, but mysteriously stopped doing them.

Stopped by today around 1pm with the intent of buying some Clerical Error ad Good n You cans, as both are listed on the site. There were 3 cans of Clerical Error in to cooler and no Good n You. Walked out without buying anything and made the 3 minute drive over to Exhibit A for Sunday Paper and Hair Raiser cans so I can't complain too much.

Sorry, @AirBob. Jack's ran out of those cans today. We have them, as well as a new can, AMIRITE?!, over at Springdale now through the rest of the weekend. Our tap list is up to date on our website, and will be updated each Weds/Thursday. Out of curiosity, did you ask anyone at Jack's for those beers? Happy you were able to snag some of Matt's excellent beer while you were in the hood, at least.

I know that we've been working to update the JA site more aggressively. Your feedback here is taken to heart and I know our big brothers next door @JacksAbbyBrewing are working to keep the website as up-to-date as possible.

Are you able to indicate on the website what beer is available to-go and in what formats? The On Tap list on the Springdale website appears to be an onsite draft list, but it's unclear to me if any or some of the beer is available in growlers, bottles or cans. Also, if you don't plan on keeping the beer list up-to-date each day, can you add a timestamp to indicate the date of the last update?

If you're looking for some examples of this done well, check out how Night Shift and Trillium have their beer lists displayed on their websites. Both indicate available formats for each beer and when the list was updated (timestamp for Night Shift; note indicating that the list is updated every morning for Trillium - although I would expect a timestamp from them if the update wasn't daily).

Man, you've really gotten into beer since your playing days Julio! Props.

I'll make a few changes that will address "beer to go" on our page, look for them next week. If you come by this weekend, Julio (or Nomar, or really any former Red Sox player) you'll find:

    Growlers:
    Free Soil Saison
    Ein Dussel! Alt
    Walk On Porter
    Futile Lord Tropical Stout
    Sunwise Belgian Blonde

    Bottles:
    Kriek Mythology
    Cuvee d'Or Rouge
    Slanting Light

    Cans:
    GoodNYou
    AMIRITE?!
    Clerican Error

Awesome, thanks! If you can work a timestamp in there, we'll really be in business. Can't wait to see the updates.
