    Aiming for around 4.5%

That beer is a very early pilot batch.

We'll, if we're getting picky I would have preferred Fire in the Ham but beggars can't be choosers.

Is the zwickel on the calendar a beer previously released in the series? It seems like it could be one of several not already on the calendar.

I really like that one too, so that would be ok with me.

Unfortunately Rauchbiers are one of, if not the most, polarizing beer style.

I've actually never had it before, I'm just a big fan of rauchbiers. I imagine JA does a fine job with it. Was hoping it would hit distribution last year but it never made it out of state. I know rauchbiers aren't a big seller though.

Walked down to one of the local beer emporia today to pick up a sixer of Red Tape and found all of 'em gone, with gleaming sixers of Sunny Ridge pils in their place. Red Tape season seems to have come and gone with uncommon speed and I've been practically bathing in the stuff*. I'll probably go looking for lingering cans at other venues tomorrow. I miss it when it's gone.

Meanwhile, this Sunny Ridge is quite nice.

    * Just kidding. Bathing is kissing ass.

I’m looking to make my first visit the day after the Super Bowl. Planning to arrive sometime around 1. I looked at the website to get a feel for the place, draft options, to go options and I have to say I’m pretty impressed.

Any guidance on what to expect? Looking to grab a few beers on site and some cans/bottles to go. Suggestions on what to grab/try? Can’t misses? We get most of the “regulars” at the stores near me.

    Thanks in advance. Cheers.

One tip is that if you're trying to maximize trying and as many non-core beers that you dont see in your home area...as soon as you walk in you'll see coolers on your left. See which beers are available to go that day, that may help you decide which beers you end up choosing to get on draft vs cans/bottles to go.

this but also highly recommend leaving with a 15-pack of House Lager. I swear to whatever higher power you worship (or if it’s none take my word) you won’t regret it.

Quick question about the to go options:

Are the cans sold in 6 packs, 4 packs, singles? Trying to maximize the haul but minimize the impact on the wallet to whatever extent possible

All of the above. But I don't believe everything in 4/6 packs will be available as singles.

Everything is available as a single. All of our can offerings typically have either a 4-pack or 6-pack offering, and our core beers also have full cases. Our specialty bottles are only available in singles.

Based on the release calendar, Smoke & Dagger is now year-round, but I didn't see it since early fall, at least in NYC. Did it start to appear elsewhere?

Smoke & Dagger has always been year round, it is just one of our lower volume brands and sees a bit of a seasonal swing up in the winter and down in the summer. Because of this, particular in markets outside of MA, it can be hit and miss finding it. If you enjoy the beer, let your bar/package store know because they can order it year round.

Thanks for the prompt response @JacksAbbyBrewing. It's mostly big chains who carry your beers in NYC, mostly Whole Foods and sometimes Trader Joe's and now Wegman's, I doubt I can influence what they order. But good to know anyway.

You can also try our beer locator at https://jacksabby.com/beer-finder/

It will display any store in a radius that has received shipment of a beer in the last 30 days. It is not perfect as it does not guarantee it is still in stock and some places that have the Smoke & Dagger may not have ordered it in the last 30 days but it should still be helpful.

Interestingly, it does show correct brands for a couple of places I know to carry your beers, but it also listed six brands in a store that I walked in after I saw your message, and it had one lonely sixpack jammed between other things. We'll see if I have better luck with other places. For the beer finder, I wonder if there a possibility to display what kind of establishment it is (e.g. store vs bar/restaurant) and what kind of items they ordered (cans vs draft). Thanks again for helping to find your beers.

They hit it out of the park with galaxy brau, do not hesitate to pull the trigger if you see it. Perfect combo of crisp, clean lager and galaxy hops. I thought citra brau was great last year, but this blows it out of the water.
