The Mrs and I are making our first trip to JA today. Have to grab that Festbier and the Zwickel. I’ll bet they are well worth the drive.

Didn't try the pizza but we saw several walking to our table and they looked great.

All beers were fantastic. We brought some four packs home and both the Zwickel and Festbier are top-notch. The Smores BA Framminghammer was damn good also (we split a bottle last night). Not somewhere I'll go very often simply due to the distance, but it's certainly worth going out there if you haven't been before. I'm glad I can get a lot of their beers in cans very easily. Hell, Hoponius Union has become one of my go-to "IPAs".

The copilot Leopold is stellar, everything they open ferment in wood has been awesome thus far.

Made a quick beer run Sunday to get the Zwickel, Valley Festbier (which was excellent) and the Leopold. Haven't tried the Leopold yet but will definitely be cracking one open tonight.

I picked up the same for this weekend, plus some staples: Smoke and Dagger and SooB. What did you think of the Zwickel and Leopold?

Out of curiosity, what kind of pricing is everyone seeing for the core brands that used to come in 6 packs? Ever since the switch, it seems most of the retailers near me have kept the same price for the 4 pack ($10) that they were charging for the 6

I feel like it varies quite a bit and on balance more places stayed at around $10 like you mentioned. And seeing 4 packs of House Lager tallboys for $10 next to the 15 packs for $16 makes the decision making very easy.

I know Rapid Liquors sells them at the cheaper price JA was intending at least.

Everyplace near me that I go to has Hop U 4/16s at $7.99, including Wegmans.

It is hard to say what the usual price is since JA almost completely disappeared from NYC but except for Wegmans and Whole Foods, it is $10-11/4pack if you're lucky enough to find it.

I pay $8.49 for JA four packs at my usual spot in Central Mass. Unfortunately they don't stock anything but the core JA beers - no Boston Rising, Nelson Brau, etc., just the House, Hoponius, Post Shift, and seasonal.

A few stores have been $8.49 and I even saw $7.99 at Big Y, but most I see have the old price still. I wonder how this effects sales. Most (northeast) BA's know what the price should be but I wonder if the average consumer does. Probably what these stores are relying on but maybe hurting sales for Jack's a little?

the supermarket I get JA at, used to be $9.99 for 6pack (core plus seasonal), often on sale for $8.99 and occasionally on sale for $7.99. Last time I went they had the 4packs on sale for $5.99, so I assume the regular is $7.99, but most often available for $6.99.

Another packaging question - I noticed the variety pack seems to have gone back to having the blood orange wheat instead of Shipping up to Boston.

I wonder if that's just a move for summer or whether they changed it permanently back because sales suffered when they swapped in the amber? I hope it's the former because I bought a lot more of it when they got rid of the wheat (it's certainly not a bad beer, it's just not up my alley).

I'm pretty sure $5.99 is less than or equal to the wholesale price, so something doesn't add up there. Unless maybe the store purchased at a bulk discount and were firesale-ing them at cost?

They switch to the wheat for summer and back to amber in fall.

I used to get 6pks for $9 now it’s 4pks for $8. I buy less of them these days.

most places seem to have knocked a dollar off the old price.
